Northampton Town (a)
Following on from the non-receipt of our Wimbledon (a) tickets, nine days since making the purchase and the fixture having been and gone, I have been trying to buy tickets over the weekend for the Cobblers fixture.
The 'as always....' link on our club website page - https://www.barrowafc.com/news/2022/aug ... -v-barrow/ - is broken at hte time of writing or at least does not appear to work on mobile devices or a desktop. Is it just my experience because nobody else has mentioned this on this forum?
I have found the actual purchase page via a search engine - https://barrowafc.seatlab.com/events/03 ... barrow-afc - and have now managed to buy two tickets. The .pdf confirming the transaction, including the QR code, has come through by email.
The only option available on SeatLab appears to be collection of the physical tickets from Holker Street, though I will assume, as that is not possible in my case (for geographical reasons) the tickets will be sent to Northampton for collection on the day. I hope so anyway.
If not, then at least we do have proof of purchase.
At Wimbledon, we rolled up and the people there were brilliant. The ticket office confirmed that there were no tickets for collection in our name and could not accept our 'proof of purchase'. However, we were advised to speak with a supervisor of some sort. He had a word elsewhere and then let us in via the main gate. The 198 thus became 200.
Ticketing is the bane of my life and is not confined to Barrow AFC. Lots of other clubs have issues as do other sporting and events organisations. However, when links are broken and/or do not work on our own website, those less tolerant than myself will perhaps lash out at the club. I can also understand why that will happen as a theoretically simple process is sometimes akin to mining for bitcoin. The value derived from watching Barrow this season is very high, admittedly. As an old head said to me on Saturday, 'who thought we'd see this before we die'. Thus, the fundamental thing that we really care about, the performance on the pitch, is storming it at present and like many others, am dizzy with excitement.
Am sure that the club is aware of some of the 'issues' and will be addressing them. Am guessing that part of the challenge is that each club uses a platform of its own choice and those platforms probably do not 'speak' to each other. However, I hope that we can eliminate, or at least vastly reduce, a lot of these issues sooner rather than later.

You're quite right, that link does not work but it does say on that page:
Barrow fans are able to collect tickets on the day and buy on the day at Northampton
Don't let the old man in.

Not suggesting for one minute that it is not the case, MP. However, in order to 'collect tickets on the day', a purchase needs to have been made and 'buy(ing) on the day' does add a couple of quid per ticket. Further, there is no 'collect on the day' option when you buy, just 'Collect from the SO Stadium'MisterPleasant wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 12:53 pm You're quite right, that link does not work but it does say on that page:Barrow fans are able to collect tickets on the day and buy on the day at Northampton
From a personal perspective, I prefer to sit in a local hostelry pre-match and not spend my time chasing tickets (looking for the ticket office, queuing, explaining etc).
Am sure that it'll all come right in the end.

I’ve given up, so will just purchase at the ground on the day of the game.

I always print my own tickets as well as having the electronic version on my phone. This has worked OK for me. I have only been to Stockport so far this season though
Just say no to VAR

I think Stockport worked well, Fazered, as we bought directly from Stockport and the tickets were mailed electronically when purchased.
It has previously been previously pointed out on another thread something along the lines of there being that there many different ticket sales policies in our league. This appears to be a root cause of confusion for fans, software and clubs.

not for me .......I bought early from Stockport and paid £2 postage for my tickets to be posted to me, Thursday before the game called their ticket office to enquire, to be informed there had been issues with some postal applications and asked if i could pick up from the club on matchday, didn't want to do that so they emailed them to me. Never did get the £2 refund- wrote it off.Cubbins Paratrooper wrote: ↑Tue Aug 30, 2022 4:39 pm I think Stockport worked well, Fazered, as we bought directly from Stockport and the tickets were mailed electronically when purchased.

As I've claimed before, any benefit accrued by the consumer is purely coincidental, El Chas.

Re: Northampton Town (a)
Interestingly I was given a postal option for Northampton tickets and paid £1 extra for this.
They haven't arrived yet and I will be contacting the club tomorrow to find out if I should expect to receive them.
It should not be this difficult!!!

Re: Northampton Town (a)
When I bought tickets for Wimbledon there was only the collection option available as it was too late for the postal option. I rang Barrow and they took my name and said they would watch out for my order and have the tickets for collection at Wimbledon. This all worked fine.
Incidentally, when collecting the tickets at the ticket office for away fans the guy in the office said to the people in front of me that they had no more left and were waiting for more to be delivered. Pre-ordered tickets were there for collection. As the tickets were simply printed on A4 paper I can only assume that they had run out of paper or ink, or that there was no printer in the office and they were having to get some printed and sent from another office in the ground. It’s not just Barrow that has ticketing issues.

Hardest game to date, would take a point.
Re: Northampton Town (a)
There would be none of this nonsense if you could just turn up on the day and pay cash.
