A couple from the last two weeks, probably things that go largely unnoticed but they still need fixing, replacing or renewing.

A broken light switch in the X Bar replaced. A new light to replace the old unit in the gents toilets in the X Bar.

Lighting around the reception area and X Bar side path all fixed.
Yellow paint on various steps around the ground brightened & freshened up.
We finally managed to get one full coat of blue on the band around the main building, it’ll need another but that’s a job for spring now. Just glad to get it completed before the autumn weather closes in.

The downspout in the fanzone was blocked and the rain on Wednesday was causing a mini flood around that area, that’s all fixed now. Don’t even want to try and explain what came out 🤢

Window fixed in one of the corporate rooms.

Next big job. The club have asked us to do something with this area (which is a mess). We’re going to replace all of this with something similar to our old segregation fence, basically mesh panels.

As usual, everyone was looked after by Elaine making the brews and Marion supplying all the food for brew time.

Many thanks to the supporter who gave us a cash donation yesterday, as usual it all goes into the kitty to do some of the jobs I’ve just posted. When we do a job, 95% of the time the materials we use are new so any donation is always a great help.

Superb work as always by this group hugely appriciated.

Just a question on the next big job you mention, what is this section exactly? I thought we had proper segregation up? Is this segregation before the segregation? Losing terrace space ain’t we by doing this? Seems strange…..

It is that area mate, I guess the police or SAG people asked for that sterile area, trouble is it was only a very temporary and obviously rushed job. Hopefully what we put there will look better.

Why mesh panels? More nuts and bolts. Would stadium segregation sheeting not work? from back wall to front and it could be a sponsorship opportunity, or just have the club crest on it? Also has the advantage of being able to be moved easily.

People in the away end wouldn't be able to see through sheeting to watch the match.

No not that way- this….surely this would be better than another fence. We’ve already got one fence how many more frameworks do we need.

As a nod to our heritage we’re having a Steelworks End and a Holker End again, just in the same place.

Ian, has any thought been given to a mural….maybe not.

The point is we are making HSE viewing worse- they could at least look into alternatives to having more mesh, more obstructed views.

Ah, sheets like tarpaulin sheets, Jonty, rather than structural sheets!

Might work OK over seats but the 'sterile zone' is a standing area.

Could we not have a tarp type sheet span the gap between stanchions? Or is that too big a space to lose. Sponsored by someone local of course.

It will not obstruct any views. How high do you think it’s going?

We were asked to look into something for this season, I’ve no idea what is happening after that.
