Extra Seating to be EFL compliant

Their are a lot of people who give their services for free to help improve our ground,so instead of moaning about the lack of progress regarding the seating how about offering your time to help make the ground a better place to visit.

Not everything is moaning; it’s perfectly understandable for people to ask questions. Last we heard temporary seats were coming after the commonwealth games, we obviously aren’t all as ITK as yourself to know that plan has changed and why

Pete wild wasn't a cheap option, he was a highly sought after manager with a year left on his contract at Halifax and lots of other clubs monitoring him. We paid compensation to get him in.

The board did fantastically, I am sure the club will have the efl requirements in hand, would just be nice to know what the plan is. (The money you would lose dropping out of the league is probably more than the cost of the extra seats)

Not saying they didn't pay compensation to get him with a year left on his contract it would have been very strange if they hadn't.

Not sure how you work out that he was sought after other than rumors about a return to Oldham I don't think there was much of substance from anywhere else.

Common knowledge that he was in the bottom 5 earners in the conference. And if you think Hornby will have paid any more than the absolute minimum to get him especially given the fact that the assistant he brought in wasn't wet behind the ears you're wrong, same as you are if you think he isn't in the bottom 5 earners again this time in League two.

There's a history of managers from outside the EFL taking jobs in the league for less than they were earning outside it, But given what he was on at Halifax that won't be the case here but i.d bet its a lot nearer that than Mark Hughes reputed 10k a week at Bradford.

He was linked with nearly every vacant job last season, I have no idea what he is earning at Barrow but he will be on a decent deal I'm sure.

In terms of seats obviously the club will have to satisfy the league before the end of the season everything is in place.. if we lost our place in the league for that reason the club would be finished, I certainly wouldn't be arsed anymore

I can,t believe some people on here.We have already been told that the seats will be in place for the start of the next season.
The reason for the delay is that the original contractor suddenly decided it was going to cost more for them to put the stand and seats in and revised their original quote massively increasing the price for the job.
Because the club has only a set amount of money to play with they refused to go ahead at the increased quote.
It is called keeping the club on a sound financial footing and not getting into massive debt,which quite a few other EFLclubs are already.

Because of all the improvements that have already been made the ground is a much more pleasant experience from the one I remember in the 1960s so for that I am grateful even if some people aren't and who will always moan about the pace of change.

I don’t think anyone is knocking the work done by the volunteers to make the ground better, which it clearly is but building a new stand is not a knock up and make do job, it’s one for the pros so I don’t think the others ‘offering their time’ is relevant in terms of the level of work needed to make Holker St a proper FL ground, It’s a job for proper stadium developers. As for moans about ‘pace of change’. Incase you’ve forgotten this has to be done before next season so time isn’t something the club have very much of and I don’t think it’s unfair for the supporters to have their worries alleviated a little by the club showing us what is planned and what will be done. This, everything will be in hand attitude doesn’t really do that!

As I said earlier do whatever you have to that gets the away capacity up to 1500 so that the extra money [ above what you're getting now with a limit at 650 ] so that the extra cash each season would pay for whatever repayments there were on what was needed to redevelop the ground.

I don't see the logic in only spending 850k when if they spend double that they would get nearly double the grant money You only get one hit at that grant money on promotion so its madness not to max out the absolute upper limit.

We’ve already had grants for floodlights and other ground improvements. I’m not sure if that leaves much left in the Barrow grant pot for other things. Plus if we have to match it - yea I would like a proper main stand extension but there has to be realistic aims- say a temporary stand for two- three seasons that increases away capacity by an extra 500. There’s probably 3 -5 games that would bring 1000 away fans so possibly could be self financing but how much would be paid back out for “hiring a stand”. The downside is it’s temporary, could be seen as short sighted and doesn’t actually fix the need to improve the stand to generate non match day income that a proper stand with function suites / conf facilities etc / could generate. Also factor in 2022 the demand for these sort of facilities has dropped in the post Covid “teams” world. I’m not sure the demand would be there anyway outside of match day so over doing it that could be an unnecessary expense. I guess it’s outcome based thinking time about what do we actually need to bring the ground up to spec and so away fans go away with positive reports of their visit.

The grant for the floodlights came from a completely different grant pot and was i.m pretty sure completed before promotion

Accy are saying that in their new hospitality/bars facility both matchday [ bars and hospitality ] and non matchday [ private hire and promoted events ] are running well ahead of what theyd budgeted and talking to the CEO a couple of weeks ago the non matchday is somthing like 5 times the amount theyd budgeted for
