We have still not come from a goal down to draw or win a game this season in the league or cup (Lincoln ended as a draw after we came from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 for a while). Like to see us do that sometime when we fall behind.

Agree though with others that when Mansfield went one up (saw it when I switched on Sky Sports) my hear sank as I knew how it would all pan out sadly. Got a boring Nov 25th ahead of me but a rest maybe for the players.

With Doncaster Rovers also out of the FA Cup I would be contacting them to bring forward our game away on Tuesday February 14th to play them on November 26th, also if Mansfield win again in 2nd Round game on January 7th will also be off, but Pete Wild might decide to give players a rest on the 26th.

The club never informed anyone they were doing what they did - first we saw was as the players lined up on the centre circle

In the past the club/British Legion have asked for people to sell poppies in the ground, and that has happened. Wonder why that wasn't done today.

I have helped sort the legion collections for a few seasons, now the club has full time people and staff to sort these things I didn't bother this year.

Could easily have won that. Better in the general scheme of things that there wasn’t a reply. Overall not at all fussed that we haven’t progressed. Only a third round tie against a prem side would have been worth it as a pay day and hope of an upset. Never going to win the cup whatever! The league is much more important, and we still have a (realistic?) hope of Wembley in the PapaJohns!!

All too familiar match thread reading after a defeat- sounds like we have been undone by our Achilles at the set piece with some huff and puff the other end with no end product.
Some teams we just struggle with and Mansfield are one of them.

We came from a goal down to draw with Fleetwood and win on penalties.

Tough pitch to play on. Credit to the ground staff for the condition as I’m sure it could have been a lot worse. Get the core tyne on it and it’ll be fine by our next home match. Mansfield has the same game plan as the last time, absorb our attack, score and sit back and absorb everything thrown their way and in fairness they did it well. Another weak ref but no good dwelling on that. Focus on the JPT as our cup competition now and lets get some prize money from that

Fair enough. But I was thinking mainly League, League cup & FA Cup games. My concern is that apart from set pieces and the issues we sometimes have there we can't seem to break down a team that goes one up against us. Teams sit deep (although Mansfield seem to be the masters of it) and absorb our pressure. Granted the Sutton score should have been 1-1 with the "disallowed" goal. But when we fall behind I worry.

The effort was commendable but the execution was sadly lacking. Personally I think there was only one person in the ground today who would've took a striker off who scored a hat-trick in the last game and kept a striker on who wouldn't cut it in the vanarama. That's football for yeh.

Rearranged game against Doncaster a possibility but it might be that the team we get drawn against in the papa johns trophy is out of the fa cup or one of the under 21 teams that have qualified would be able to play that Saturday and would spread the games out better

Pete Wild says quite rightly another set piece goal. Whilst Farman is a brilliant shot stopper at every set piece he's rooted on his line their keeper came out numerous times to punch/, catch the ball everytime we concede a free kick corner I fear the worst, Josh willis must recognise this ,so I wouldn't be surprised for us to be looking for a more dominant goalkeeper.

Nigel Clough is a experienced Manager and obviously had a game plan which undid us twice irrespective of how they managed we got a lot of stick when we played the Cox way.
Hopefully Mansfield will be successful under Clough who when Manager at Burton along with his assistant heard the club where in financial difficulty and were going to sack none footballing staff.
The Management team offered to resign with no financial pay off on the basis that it would save jobs .

Back to football Mayo for a big player is weak and would be lucky to play a none league club.

Taking the positives from watching the highlights-
-we created good goal scoring chances, Canavan and Kay on another day bury those.
-never stopped searching for a way to score- So long as we keep creating chances in games.
-dominated large spells of the game
-Bennet getting some game time.

no reason why this side can’t secure a top 7 finish.

Back to football Mayo for a big player is weak and would be lucky to play a none league club.

Strongly disagree. Pete wild singled him out as his MOM against Colchester. Links play up keeps centre half’s occupied and wins his fare share of tackles in the opposition half. A prolific scorer he is not but will create the space for others to score. It took until the second half for Mansfield to get a grip of him yesterday but that may have been due to Moyo feeling the effects of both the pitch and two games in 4 days
