Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
And we're off and running. Quite a healthy 34 entrants for the competition.
After a very uninspiring first game involving the hosts, Qatar, England helped themselves to a hatful of goals. Many predicted the resultm but unsurprisingly, no-one predicted the score.
In the first four games, there have been a few people correctly predicting result AND score, so well done to them.
Games come thick and fast now with many days having four games. I will aim to update the page with the leader board each day.
Our first leader board has Frank Boddy, NSC President Bob Steed and Chris Lloyd leading the way, and NSC Chairman Andy McKinnon propping the table up. Plenty of time and games to go Andy!!

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
Well, Well, Well!! Who would have predicted that? The mighty Saudi Arabia beating the minnows of Argentina. Well, as far as our predictions competition is concerned, absolutely no-one, so no effect on the leader board. However, it could have an affect on the predicted Group Winners.
We have a new (outright) leader in Mark Leitch. His faith and prediction of the French result against Australia proved dividends.
Andy McKinnon not particularly troubling the scorers at present. His daughter showing him the way

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
Another day, another shock. Again, not a major affect on our competition as Germany were by far expected to win against Japan, but certainly could shake things up with the Group Winners and Runners Up predictions.
All eyes on one of the other tournament favourites, Brazil, tomorrow!!

Maybe a bit of "normality" returns with the Brazil and Portugal results. Change in our leader board again with Bob Steed and Dave Leitch heading the table.
A few "family" tussles going on with messrs, McKinnon, Fawdrey, Leitch and Roddie vying for bragging rights if not challenging for the superb prizes.

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
Hmmmm!! Bit drab for England, but hey ho, a point gained rather than 3 lost.
Not a surprise to see the hosts eliminated at such an early stage even before the group stages are complete.
Bob Steed still leads the way in our competition, and is now closely followed by Grant Fallows. Still loads to play for, and another eight games over the weekend while Barrow have a weekend off.
Andy McKinnon finally pulled off the bottom rung (well done).

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
No shocks today Big names stepping up when it matters.
France toiled against Denmark but their win sees them into the Last 16, while Argentina kept themselves in contention especially after Suadi Arabia's result.
Big game Sunday between Spain and Germany. Will the Germans be packing their bags, and with it the hopes of many in our competition?
Bob Steed still leading the way, and the top of the leader board looking congested. Once again, I have demonstrated my uselessness at predictions!!

*Up to and including Argentina v Mexico
France toiled against Denmark but their win sees them into the Last 16, while Argentina kept themselves in contention especially after Suadi Arabia's result.
Big game Sunday between Spain and Germany. Will the Germans be packing their bags, and with it the hopes of many in our competition?
Bob Steed still leading the way, and the top of the leader board looking congested. Once again, I have demonstrated my uselessness at predictions!!

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
Well, Group E still alive after Japan's loss and the draw between Spain and Germany.
Another surprise result with Belgium losing to Morocco, but no impact to our competition as most thought the Belgians were going to win.
Grant Fallows retakes the lead but still plenty to play for.

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
After a fairly boring weekend, the World Cup livened up a bit today with a few goals.
As we enter the final round of Group Stage games, there is still much to play for with only three teams qualified for the Last 16 up to now.
All eyes on Wales v England on Tuesday as we enter the real crunch stage for the Group Stage.
Grant Fallows still out front with Fiona Cottam on his heels.

COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
Sorry. Had to get out of my system.
Solid performances from Netherlands and England saw them top their groups as we enter the final round of Group Stage games.
A slightly bigger lead opening up at the top of our leaderboard with Bob Steed and Grant Fallows leading the way. I am now on the charge at the other end of the table. Watch out lads

Re: National Supporters Club World Cup 2022 Predictions Competition
Well!! Two of the pre-tournament favourites out after the group stage. Whereas the specific results haven't had a dramatic affect on our competition, but the fact they didn't progress to the knockout phase certainly will.
Into the final round of games in the group stage today. Will there be any more surprises.
The points awarded for Group Winners and Runners Up will be added after the final games today.
