We got nine points from Crewe Hartlepool and Colchester all sides struggling put us in a false position imo. This month will be our toughest month so far.

I was one of the poor sods freezing my bits off at the game. Observations ..
Goal 1 - no closing down (Neal seemed to vanish) and why no attempt to save by farman
Goal 2 - very blatant foul on I think it was George Ray in the build up when the stevenage player took half his shirt with him - that said Farman should have put his boot through it.
Goal 3 - again another foul on Warren not given which led to him committing a foul that led to the free kick/Goal
Goal 4 - not a pen as Warren seemed to get the ball

The officiating was appalling but I'm afraid so was Barrows play. We were out muscled from minute 1 and didn't seem up for the fight. Stevenage are a typicL steve Evans side, orrible bunch.

Best Barrow player .... err..... possibly Whitfield but he was never really in the game.
Worst, Farman followed by Neal.

A great barrow turnout but they will go away pretty depressed after that.

Let's hope now we have had that mountain in the road we dust ourselves down and get back to how we all know this team can play.I had my rant now but as Pete Wild said tonight"Think where you were this time last season" and basically I have to agree with him.Carlisle had their horror show against Walsall and this was ours.We were warned that Stevenage would try and steam roller us and that is exactly what happened,so now we all need to get behind the team and hope we see a much better performance against Carlisle,because whatever you may think Pete Wild has made a massive difference to the Bluebirds.He said it would take time, that is why he agreed to stay with us and for that we should be grateful,because eventually he will turn this team around.We are already miles in front of where we expected to be so I think a bit of patience is called for.

Maybe the afternoon kip wasn’t long enough?, or maybe they slept in? In all seriousness I thought we were still in it at half time but the manner of the goals conceded was poor. There were too many off their game. I cant understand why we insisted in playing it in the air to Gordon who I don’t think won a header all game, yet we carried on with this? The Foley for Whitfield sub didn’t change anything other than losing an attacking outlet.

Bad day all round. Stevenage didn’t put a foot wrong and as we know the game is about mistakes at this level.

Interesting to look at the teams we have really struggled against - particularly Orient, Mansfield, Stevenage (and others at times), all of which have been big strong sides who we couldn’t outrun or out jump. Let’s hope we learn from that.

To be honest and fair I didn't watch the game, but in light of the posts I couldn't help mention Wild's headline comments, "We've got to hurt Stevenage with our quality"...

Stevenage got 9 from Hartlepool, Crawley (when they were rubbish) and Harrogate. What does that prove?

Yes, this is a tough month but we all said our opening 10 games were tough and we came through those well enough.

My that was a tough watch, totally out fought, out battled all over the pitch. They were far too strong for us, not to mention a horrible, cheating team but that’s their managers stamp. We never looked like scoring,our forwards didn’t get a moment on the ball. I accept defeat, but the manner and size of, leaves a bad taste.
