On Stockport County website that they have recalled him from successful loan at Altringham with a view to a permanent deal in January,Stockport probably freeing some wages up for more big signings in January transfer window but makes sense as it’s in one of the areas we looking to strengthen and been in good form for Alty,hope selling Whitfield to us doesn’t put them off as it wouldn’t look good for them if both our wingers were on fire

Pete Wild had Elliot Newby at Halifax last season on loan from Stockport playing 11 times for him

If we are looking to strengthen, Newby isnt the answer. We should be aiming higher. Hes just a bench warmer, hence why he aint getting in at Stockport. Que all the people buzzin off him coz hes from Barrow

Whitfield was not getting in at Stockport and he ain’t turned out to bad. Stockport fans appear disappointed he is moving on. Alty fans are gutted he has been recalled. Wild has had him before at Halifax where he impressed so knows what he can do.

I'd also hope that McClelland will return to us - think it might be February now but we do miss him. As for Newby have seen him a couple of time at Alty - he's OK nowhere near as talented as Whitfield and I feel Josh is a better player but that's a different story.

Could be wrong, but I thought I heard PW in his post match Swindon interview on RC, say that McClelland or Sam Mac as he refers to him, was now `back with us` as he put it
