Dreadful second half. Needless free kick, poor defending, and another home defeat to nil when the game itself had relatively nothing in it.

Well after recent displays that brought things back down to Earth with a huge bump.

Sort of cancelled each other out first half, both teams not really troubling the other. The second half was a bit of a shocker. I might be mistaken but was our shot in the dying minutes our only shot on goal? Never once looked like scoring. We couldn’t find a way to get Whitfield involved and when that happens we seem to lose a big goal threat either through him or through assists.

If we play like that on Tuesday we’ll take a proper stuffing.

Not like you to miss a chance to give your two penn’orth Nige, pity the Q&A wasn’t tonight then someone might have been able to ask why Canavan and Ray persisted in skying, lofting, floating and chipping the ball all game long to the Northampton players? And why do we always have to wait until the 60 minute mark to make personnel changes? It was obvious at the start of the second half that what hadn’t worked in the first half wasn’t working in the second half. By the time the changes came we were one down and chasing the game having not even had a shot on target. I concur with the Spirit, play like that on Tuesday and we will be banjo’d good and proper.

Haven't won at home since mid November against Hartlepool. I don't know but we seem to be losing our way a bit at present.

Let's just get to that 50 point mark and start planning for next season.

Only going off comments and Flashscore stats but did manage to listen to Wildy post match and it sounds like a match with not much in it. He’s made a couple of attacking substitutions to try and get back in it but up against a top side they can manage any threat once they get front.

I think our biggest improvement as a team would be through our defensive side as a unit. We struggle with keeping clean sheets and who was it who said if you can’t score don’t concede!

Attacking substitutions? Takes gotts ,Whitfield, off keeps white ( defensive midfielder) on ,the substitutions were ridiculous and totally unbalanced the team .

Awful second half. Most certainly did not come out switched on. Mistakes for both goals, no one reacts to the free kick and then no one tracks the runner after farman's save.
Think it's time to admit Bennet is not the answer to our problems. Offers nothing considering his size. Found it strange that we signed a striker and then stuck him out wide.
Long balls from the back are infuriating with strikers who are 5ft nothing.
This was nothing like the team who showed up at Mansfield and orient. Would like to see young start up top and either Kay or Newby in for waters at Carlisle.

A very evenly matched first half with few chances, Barrow having the best opportunities, was followed by a second half where Northampton stepped up a gear- but sadly we didn’t.

In the 6th minute, it appeared that Northampton’s Leonard was booked for a challenge on White but the fact he was booked half an hour but remained on the pitch indicates that was not the case! Ten minutes later, we came close when a brace of Neal close range shots in the area were blocked. A Whitfield free kick into the area on the half-hour was also cleared, as was our resultant first corner.

In the 34th minute, Leonard finally received a definite yellow for another foul on White, who was later awarded Barrow’s man of the match.

Five minutes later, we had our best chance of the half when a great ball from Gotts found Whitfield who launched the ball into the area, the advancing Waters only just failing to make contact.

Goalless at half time, it appeared that only an error was likely to separate to teams in the second half. However, the visitors upped their game and pressed far harder, causing us to defend deeply and struggle to gain possession.

In the 54th minute the pressure finally told as Waters fouled Leonard 25 yards out on the left. Hoskins’ free kick was launched into the area and Fox gained the final touch as the ball continued into the right corner of the goal.

On the hour Kay replaced Waters. A Hoskins corner was punched out. Kay and Odimayo then both went down after a clash of heads and a 69th minute double change saw Neal and Whitfield replaced by Foley and Newby.

Further changes over the next ten minutes saw Gordon and Gotts make way for Bennett and debutant Jake Young. For the visitors McWilliams and Magloire came on for Pinnock and Leonard.

In the 85th minute, Northampton made it two when a sharp shot from 20 yards by Hoskins was parried by Farman into the path of McWilliams who drilled in from close range to the right corner.

The attendance of 3,002 including 223 visitors was announced; we now had a mountain to climb.

An 87th minute Brough corner was easily caught by King. Two minutes later, Magliore was booked for pulling back Kay. Kay’s free kick was blocked and, as seven minutes of added time was announced, Northampton made a triple change, Hoskins, Appere and Koiki being replaced by Harrop, Felix-Eppiah and Lintott.

In the 7th minute of added time, Foley received Barrow’s first booking of the afternoon and a minute later, Bennett tested King with the final shot of the game from the right. Sadly, King gathered easily so not even a consolation goal for Barrow.

Well listened to managers report afterwards and he saw first half different to me.I thought it was even and can someone explain how we are going to have a a shot on target when we keep lofting high balls up for poor josh Gordon to wrestle with tall defenders and little gotta did his best as usual but everyone else seems so against us.We never gave them much opportunity but didn’t worry their keeper either.Thought Tom white played well first half.knew that the cobblers would up their game second half and we failed to respond.If Bennet is fit why does he come on so late when we need his height up front he seems a shadow of the player once was maybe the bad injury has caused this.No shot on target till extra time at home very disappointing.They scored and from then on game over.Shame that the majority of home supporters are not getting to see the quality of some of our away performances.We need a positive performance away at Carlisle at least a draw to lift spirits cos for me todays performance was one of our worst.Galling after last two results.

For fear of expressing my honest opinion, that was sh!te in fact it was so sh!te it was unbelievable. We are a very bang average side sat in an elevated position due to our unbelievable start. Without that, games against the bottom teams would be six pointed affairs.

The part I don’t get is most of our starting line up all must have a relation called Snow White and when we are against a side that are way taller and bigger nothing gets changed to a plan B from Pete.

By the way six out of seven dwarfs aren’t happy!

Totally agree we've nobody to hold the ball and dictate the play it's all too hurried or going backwards!

Poor result & performance first half both sides not up to it, second half at times was like going back in time to Conference North raining crowd very quite with nothing to get excited about and of course hoof ball and no shots at goal, that is the worst home performance this season, like been said start with Newby Kay and Young against Carlisle, we don`t want the season to just fizzle out, and our poor form at home has returned bit disappointed by the crowd again less than 3,000 home fans but people will be struggling with Heating & Eating bills so maybe it wasn`t that bad, but we do need more than 2,700 from the home fans. Good news about the seats getting done in the summer.

We were slightly the better team in the first half but didn’t create anything. Northampton came out much better than us second half and as soon as they scored that was that. As Wild himself said whoever scored first was going to win
Unless Young isn’t fit I was surprised Bennett came on before him; Gordon hadn’t had a sniff all day. Seemed an ideal chance to give Young half an hour or so
Mansfield the obvious exception but we really do struggle for a Plan B, if we go behind most of us see it as inevitable we will end up losing

Just listened to Pete wild's interview if no injuries find it hard to comprehend how McClelland isn't even on the bench!
