Why give Carlisle such an advantage of having the Holker End full of their supporters. Keep the Holker End for Barrow supporters win the game and hopefully beat them in the playoffs.

And they couldn’t even sell out for the Papa Johns game

If you search the thread for this game from a few months back you’ll remember that most Carlisle fans boycott the trophy for the last few years since academy teams entered!

I would give them the Holker St end, let's get the dosh in. Plenty of Carlisle fans in the home end I would expect. Big atmosphere will help Barrow whether it's Barrow or Carlisle supporters making the noise. Don't know how we stand regards is it 15% of the capacity for away fans?

It's not as if the Holker End is 'hallowed ground' anymore with one corner already given to away fans.

When I do attend I stand in the Holker End. I have done since the 70s. We never wore black jackets, black jeans or daft black baseball caps in those days. And we sang and chanted a multitude of songs - not the boring one song that seems to be the norm these days - I think you know the one I'm referring to. We also stood and watched a game of Football being played - not constantly gazing over at the fans of the opposition and taunting them - hoping for a reaction.
In those days - and up until a few seasons back - the Holker End was for Barrow fans ONLY.
If you open your eyes you might notice a fenced off section on that terrace - its for the away fans.
Therefore, it isn't 'hallowed home turf' anymore. So stop talking shi*e! How old are you?

Can understand why Barrow fans wouldn't want to give up the Holler End. Plod are going to have their hands full for this one I suspect, there will be a good few Carlisle fans trying to get tickets for the home ends. Hopefully they can all keep quiet and it doesn't cause any bother.

Been a while since two Cumbrian sides were in with a chance of promotion to the third tier, looks like a big game (depending on what happens between now and then) coming up...

Who knows, we may even get to revisit this in a playoff semi - or even at Wembley...

If we were bank rolled into the league and had a bottomless pit of cash with a flashy new stadium those moaning about the away allocation/away end would be saying how we’ve bought ourselves into this position

We had 3300 home fans for the last game not sure what the capacity is but you don't need a lot more home fans to sell out.. it could be a very big game for both clubs or just them either way it's a big game

Already had tickets cancelled; a rush on tickets in the home end soon after Carlisle announced they had sold out wasn’t the cleverest move

Mr Sea Dog… firstly congratulations on attending holker St for so long.

Now, the black jackets are this youths culture, the same culture you probably had in the 70s ( which I’m sure you were a saint ) with your styles on the terrace. If you don’t like it then that’s your issue but don’t knock groups of lads going to the game and backing their side.

You say they just stand and taunt away fans but that’s just an easy dig that people like yourself just throw out every so often when the topic arrives.

As to the singing, the recent home games have been pretty dull till late on with not much to sing about but we all know the reasons why it’s much better away from home. But I’d disagree there’s only one song sung.

Finally, behind the goal has always been hallowed Holker St turf. As far back as I can remember we’ve only ever given it to Darlington due to it being their last game ( at the time ) and about 50 Workington fans for some bizarre reason in the conf north. Plenty of others like yourself who have been going to watch the soccer for years stand behind there every week, I think they’d be very disappointed if it was given up as that is our home stand. Yes only behind the goal but that’s how the ground is.
