We signed Worrall at the very beginning of close season. How can that possibly be "panic buying?

Short memories on here. Dunn/Jolley season near finished us! At least we've folk used to making deals etc making them.
There's absolutely no guarantees. Our market is folk like this. The Port Vale duo look like common sense.
Duffus is someone PW knows well. The Halifax lad has good potential. All have flaws and probably 2 will work and 2 won't. If 3 or 4 do, amazing. 0 or 1 and the pressure is right on no doubt.

Yes it’s lovely if you can find one but it’s not the be all and end all to have one

If you can get 3/4 players contributing double figures and then other players chipping in here and there it’s just as good

Stop pinning any hopes of success on finding something that is a rare commodity

Welcome Jamie Proctor! Just watched his goal reel and I think he’s exactly the sort of player who will do well in a PW side. A 6’2” target man who can get his head on the ball. He’ll certainly get those sort of deliveries into the box.

Vale fans rate him. Sounds like making sure he stays fit will be the biggest challenge, but am sure they will have done their homework on this prior to the signing. Have faith in the process.

I guess Wikipedia doesn’t show you the 48 assists that Worrall has accredited to him during his time at Port Vale.

Worrall isn’t a striker, he’s not been bought in to score a hatful of goals - but he will certainly create the chances

Dont think people on here understand PW will have us evolving with every transfer window. He knows what he is doing hence him being a football manager and us doing the jobs we do!!!!

The idea that Worrall and Proctor were panic buys or just happened to fall off the back of a Stoke bound lorry is IMO laughable. They were carefully considered.

If the age/quality profile of these players does not meet the standards of some on the forum then some may have to manage their expectations.

Personally I’m optimistic.
It’s usually Pedro who is the principal doom monger on here. Consistently fails to come out with anything positive, or innovative.

Personally think this is a great signing, my criticism and not just me ,was that Gordon and Waters, whilst hard worker's just couldn't hold the ball up and bring player's into the attack, we now have 2 player's who can do this ,might mean a different style of play but Petes had a full season to suss this league out !
We as a fan base have to realise that the EFL seems to work on a 2 year cycle and team's are constantly changing, so we have to be savvy from now on ,on who and when we sign player's, to be honest we have to ( hopefully ) get most work done and try to avoid getting ripped off/ stung in January!
it'll be tough this season but I'm confident in Pete and his team can't wait till tomorrow!
