Hornby also stated it was a 1.5 million loss last season but he's predicting it to be between 500 - 700k this season.

Hornby also stated the next part of the ground they will look at will be the popular side. No time frame or plans given.

This is one of the scenarios that I find perturbing for the future. Decisions are now being made by the council from afar not, locally, which to me 'could' well lead to a lack of empathy.

It wont be ready for Blackpool and them getting the holker street end probably depends on demand from their supporters. We have until August 12th to dot the Is cross the Ts and get all the ticks in the boxes to use the new stands that nearly a month. Club are more than pleased with progress and all will be in order within time and confident all will be done so no problem.

I take your point but my understanding is the club put in their application very late in order for it to be passed in time. AFAIK the decisions will be made by the same people in Barrow planning office that were employed there pre W&F. I am sure they will do all they can to get the matter sorted out between the council and the club. Here's hoping!

Can’t imagine many clubs run on a profit. Clubs loose X amount over a season and the owner puts that cash in. Plus we’ve had to spend and spend to bring the ground up to EFL standard

Yes it’s a big sum of money, Take it in the current context then it isn’t as big a problem that you “Might” think it is, We we’re always going to be in debt as we have to pay for all the League requirements, We have just about completed everything now so it’s all paying it down with the increased away numbers expected & hopefully more home numbers as we build up our fan base & the increased spending within the ground due to all the extra few Tea huts & away bar & fan zone etc

Planned serviceable debt to drive you forwards.

Agreed... It's a huge risk but we are in safe hands and with a plan too, we are in a far better situation than most in football. We do need more locals to jump on the bluebird bus and it would be another milestone when we start filling the ground week on week as we push away upwards!
Growing up and hearing of the 16000 fans crammed in our little old stadium is something I would love to see again... Yes we are a long way from that but to see the gates as they are is mind bending, bearing in mind the nights when we stood barely breaking a 1000!!
What we are all seeing currently is what we all have wanted for so many years, let's embrace this momentum and keep building as one!

Have a listen to the latest “Out of the Blue” podcast and there is an interesting piece about how much Carlisle are paying to service their debt - about £15,000 a month if I recall correctly? By comparison I imagine we are in a much better position.

In a way I see it as a good thing going forwards as each ground is literally forced to modernise & those who want to dine at the top table have to follow the dress code so to speak.

We all have minimum standards to follow & the way I look at it is we are spending money to speculate & whenever the bigger games & cup games come around we will generate far more financially due to the many more & easier ways to part with yer cash & the infrastructure will last us a long time thus benefiting those who come after us.

“Forced” is the key word you’ve used. It’s a nonsense requirement. Have you seen how much loss we have reported? How much of that is down to having to put money in to satisfy this seating requirement. I’m all for ground upgrades - but to have do it by a certain time places enormous financial burden on the club.
