Bit of snooze fest that if you ask me. Minutes in the legs that’s about it, very little creativity going forwards. Good strike form Foley about as much to report on.

Need to use Sat for the starting eleven against Tranmere alarming number not involved tonight already - Canavan, Farman, Newby, Whitfield, Garner, Proctor….

Wild said he would try and get the full squad 90mins in the last 2 friendlies. Half the squad played tonight, the other half will play on Sat

He knows better than me but how does that get your strongest 11 gelling prior to the big kick off at Tranmere? Surely you want to give em a game together beforehand?

Have to agree it became a very boring match with little creativity for most of the match apart from a few instances, reverting to hoof ball in parts of the game.The team seemed to play better when they kept the ball on the deck,all this kicking the ball high in the air achhieved nothing and the ball just came straight back into our half.
.At times Oldham seemed to get in behind our defence.This is an area the team will have to tighten up on otherwise they will get caught out.The passing needs to be a lot more accurate also.At times it was a question of kicking the ball into an area hoping somebody would manage to get on the end of it.
I just hope this improves before we start playing in anger against Tranmere.I know it was only a training game but as the guy before me said it was a bit of a snooze fest

They will, on Saturday. Other than maybe Warren and Warrall who started tonight, I'd wager the starting 11 for Tranmere will play Saturday and it wasn't the lads tonight.

An unnecessary topic at the moment. A friendly is a difficult watch for most spectators, and a poor barometer for the coming season. The management team will know what they are looking for, and I for one hope that they will be seeing who will be best to start the season for us at Tranmere. Once it’s all underway and it matters, a lack of chances created, or a proliferation, will be all important. For now, not too concerning.

By all accounts, yes.

Didn't learn a lot from watching the football last night, but the starters had a good run out.... I don't think many of them will start against Tranmere apart from Campbell and Ray, maybe Gotts or maybe Chester if he signs.
Of the newcomers and trialists the main things I noticed were how fast Tiensia is and the trialist 25 is very composed on the ball, but not sure he's a defender. Looks like he could be a decent utility player if he signs though.
