There’s nothing more certain than if that’s a barrow player they get a red card

Bad day at the office but all be forgotten if we can get a result next week, no complaints we were on the rack a bit in the second half.

His foot goes higher than a forwards head who is 6ft 2 and then comes down the forwards face studs showing
Where would that not come under dangerous play
I said it was dangerous. My point was that the FA rules are open to a lot of interpretation and, whereas they are explicit that "serious foul play" should result in sending off, I can not find any reference to dangerous play being a mandatory sending off. Just to confuse things, studs up "when challenging for the ball" seems to be classified as serious foul play (sending off), but the ref in this case may have considered that the defender was trying to control the ball, which had bounced when he first touched it, and thus one might consder that it was Duffus who was "challenging" for the ball. And what is the definition of "challenging"? Rules are very porrly worded and it must be down to ref's interpretation.

Nevertheless, the comment about the Feely sending off is right - much less serious "challenge" deemed a red card offence. Inconsistent interpetation of the rules.

I’m still seething about this, players go in at ankle height with studs showing and get a red,I honestly think the club should fully back our player here and demand that it’s looked at. I watched it several times yesterday and couldn’t believe how bad it was. The referee need punishing and the player should be banned. It even looked intentional.

County fan in peace. Just wanted say as a football fan I found the challenge on Duffus & the failure to produce a red for a blatant high foot that nearly sliced the bottom of Courtney's nose off a total embarrassment. I think that sentiment is echoed unanimously on our message board by fellow County fans. If the shoe was on the other foot we'd be absolutely furious with a decision like that. We've probably all seen red cards issued for seemingly totally innocuous things so for the officials to not deem that challenge as worthy of a red card is mind boggling even by the poor standards of refereeing we see nowadays. Not sure what the rules are for upgrading cards after the event but pretty sure there wouldn't many of us who could complain if that was upgraded to red on review. One of the worst facial injuries I've seen for some time in football that didn't involve an accidental clash of heads or an elbow.

We weren't at our best but County are the best team we've played this season, despite their slow start to the season. We should be satisfied with 7 points when three of the four games have been away.

Very magnanimous of the Stockport fan to say he wouldn,t object if the yellow card was upped to a,straight red.He also said many of his fellow supporters felt the same way.Courtney could have had an eye damaged ,that is why I think the club should send the evidence to the FA.

Once the yellow card is given that’s the end of it. One of the most stupid rules in football. Even more so now given what can happen when VAR is in use and a yellow can be upgraded to red

Good man,it was a shocker, and it should be taken further, not just to punish your player but to educate the referee. You probably won’t agree with this which I fully understand, but Acquah our striker was constantly man handled and thrown to the ground on several occasions by your centre backs, and the ref did nothing.

Was a red but on a different day they get two pens.

Overall poor performance can’t blame refs when we lose

Aye if he had given the first pen for the push on Barry he would have had to give a red card as Barry was clean through just Lillis to beat. We got lucky on that one

On the match itself, I agree with Suffolk Blue’s analysis (I sat next to him, so I have to!). Proctor has been pretty good, but he didn’t seem to do so well in that role, against a tight defence yesterday. I thought County finished poorly, especially in the first half. The highlights are a bit misleading, giving the impression it was wave after wave of County attacks. The first half in particular was much more even.
On a positive note, I like Farman, but Josh Lillis has done really well in covering for him. He would have stopped that shot if not for the deflection.
We need to have our scoring boots on against Wrexham, as we know how that will play out!

Away from home it looks like we are going to sit back, defend, and hope hit the opposition on the break. At both Bolton and Stockport it hasn't worked so well because they have better players. It did work at Tranmere. Away from home we won't see the high press anymore if the opposition are decent. At home it could be different. Will be very interesting on Saturday v Wrexham.
