A quick update.
Many thanks to the people who have either sent or left cash donations for us, as always it will be used as wisely as possible.
Also a huge thank you to whoever bought a circular saw for us (to replace the one that set on fire last week) and dropped it off at the club but didn’t want to leave his/her name.
It’s all greatly appreciated.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

For those of you that notice these things
as you will have seen many times, when the camera is showing play or corners down the whole of the popular side it highlights an area that on the roof that was “unfinished” (not one of our jobs). Anyway, the left hand side does look “finished” now as shown on the before & after, that strip is all you see on TV. The right hand side will be done in the coming weeks.
I had a gentleman pm me a couple of weeks back offering us a donation, this morning William popped down the ground and gave us an absolutely fantastic donation of £500….amazing, we were blown away with that. We gave him a quick tour of some of the jobs we have done as he (as most supporters wouldn’t get the chance to see them normally) and I think he was impressed enough to know his donation will be put to good use.
Thank you William, your donation really does help us.

Fantastic - great gesture by William!
(And such an improvement with the straight line on the roof - thanks all.)

Thanks GMV and all the dedicated volunteers in maintaining and cleaning our ground ready for match days. Triple the fans now attending games regularly compared to when it all started with a request for some hand tools. (Start of thread coming up 11 years ago soon

Just looked at page 1 to read of Spirit's initial approach to the enigma that was John Mackay. Whatever became of the latter I wonder?Jonty wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2023 8:46 pm Thanks GMV and all the dedicated volunteers in maintaining and cleaning our ground ready for match days. Some people really do need to think a bit more before they post things on here

He was volunteering at Kendal recently but has stepped back after new ownership came in.
So I’m told, anyway.

Also was at Penrith the year before last when we played them pre-season. His bum bag at the ready.

Think the point was not that it was not far enough back but there was not a neat edge to it. That has now been rectified on the section completed and it looked better.

Can you still see the old roof colour on TV? If you can then we’ll move the paint line further back.Leo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 8:04 pmNeeds another 6 inches near the cameraspirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 03, 2023 4:43 pm For those of you that notice these thingsas you will have seen many times, when the camera is showing play or corners down the whole of the popular side it highlights an area that on the roof that was “unfinished” (not one of our jobs). Not all the way along, just the bits nearest the camera. Wish I'd got a photo to showspirit of 1990 wrote: ↑Tue Sep 05, 2023 10:12 pmCan you still see the old roof colour on TV? If you can then we’ll move the paint line further back.
Sorry, don't mean to be over-critical
