Quite mixed response really but more in favour of than against.
What we’ll do is put it on display (HSE or fanzone) give it a few games and see what people think, end of the day it’s a display flag and it can be taken down as easily as it was put up.

Of course it should be up, go to any major football ground and they have flags up everywhere,remembering past times and players/coaches.

I’d put it up. Aside from Rob Kelly’s modesty (which I respect - what a great guy) I think the problem originated because we got the flag before the season was up and at that time we weren’t safe. The flag represents and celebrates the club, manager, players and fans who all survived a potential disastrous first season back in the EFL. I think it’s something to be proud of given the situation when RK took over, which looked terminal. It’s also a reminder to appreciate where we are now and to keep our feet on the ground.

A big "yes" from me . . . though I think the Fanzone would be more appropriate than the back of the Holker Street end as it's now a historical item and I think the HSE should have flags and banners for the present day (though I'm not sure what they would be at the moment, maybe "get well soon, Junior"?!?).

I am not sure why Rob was not in favour at that time, perhaps it was indeed modesty on his part? I will not forget what he did and I'm not apologising for repeating what he accomplished for about the third time on this Forum - - - he inspired us from 30 games/26 points to 40 games/46 points which was 20 points across those 10 games or, to put it another way, 2 points per game across those 10 games which was a better points per game ratio than the eventual champions that season, Cheltenham, managed across the whole campaign. That's a bit of a shocking little miracle to me and our gratitude is enhanced by the fact that he never wanted to be a lead-man and preferred to be an assistant, so he stepped out of his preferred comfort zone when reluctantly taking the helm and leading us to safety.

Rob's entitled to his modesty but we are also entitled to remembering our history, and especially an extraordinary, if brief, period in our history. I'd be tempted to say to Rob "sorry mate, you might be a modest bloke but we are going to embarrass you whether you like it or not by remembering your place in our 122-year history for the astonishing feat you produced in that short spell of time when we looked dead and buried and faced the humiliation of getting relegated back out of the Football League again in our first season back".

And do you know what? Rob might express modest disapproval but I'd bet that deep down he would be totally made up that we think so highly of what he did and would never want to forget it.

Absolutely. What the [SwearFilter] are the wokies on about, it’s a silhouette of him isn’t it, not an image of his backside,and it’s got nowt to do with him, he’ll never see it. Put it up for god sake.

Yep think it would be good to put this up. Fanzone or back of a stand. It is a bit of of our recent history and was to show support from the fans when we couldn’t be there.
Pity not many (if any) survived from when the ultras displays. See loads of older flags at grounds.

For me we should find somewhere to put it. It's a tribute to Rob Kelly who saved us in that first difficult covid season back in the EFL it is as much thank you to Rob himself. Plus as he's not in the best of health at present so we should let him know we are honouring him for his invaluable help to the club in the 2020/2021 season.

For me the moment should bee remembered.

I get we all want to celebrate our history and I’m all for that massively but don’t you think it would be abit strange to have a flag up commemorating a caretaker manager who put our survival down to the players and the manager who bought him here and not have flags up for say Ray Wilkie, Daz & Dave, Ian Evatt and even to a point our current manager who led us to our highest ever position in football for over 50yrs

Surely they are more worthy “hall of fame” members to be forever celebrated in flag mode.

Rob is a wonderful man and I will forever be grateful for the compassion he showed myself in one of my darkest hours but I do think there are far more worthy people to celebrate at the club and he would think that himself
