Maidstone commentary
Great news that Adam will be live on Radio 5 extra on Saturday, with commentary on the match.
Yes, the whole thing going out to the nation.
We know how good he is (and enthusiastic!); a definite feather in his commentary cap.

That's great news. Let's make sure Adam has plenty to shout about!

That's great news for Adam, hope we don't lose him to a big station in the January transfer window

A step into the territory of Alan Green, Mike Ingram, Simon Brotherton, Conor McNamara and many others.
I really hope it goes well for him, sure it will, as he’s a natural, and tells it as he sees it rather than being a sensationalist.

Re: Maidstone commentary
The Northampton game in the last round was on BBC Sounds Adam, the kick off was at 1-00pm but at 3-00pm was replaced with the normal program on every Saturday afternoon giving scores as they happen.
Won't that affect this Saturdays game?
Re: Maidstone commentary
He is the best sports reporter on Radio Carlisle.
Five live would be stupid not to consider him as a commentator.
Nice to see him get a move and work for a National Station .

That was an error and wasn’t supposed to have happened - so has been rectifiedsaltcellar wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 8:59 pmThe Northampton game in the last round was on BBC Sounds Adam, the kick off was at 1-00pm but at 3-00pm was replaced with the normal program on every Saturday afternoon giving scores as they happen.

Re: Maidstone commentary
I’m not working for a national station
5Live sports extra just use our feed from radio Cumbria - just means when commentating I need to name check 5Live sports xtra as well as radio Cumbria
It’s the 2nd time I’ll have done this as the Ipswich replay a couple of seasons ago was the same

Agree he’s very good,James Philips is excellent though,I think where James has the edge is his biased view of games, being slightly more positive about his team.Ive listened to many local commentators over the last few years, and the vast majority are more positive about their team.

Re: Maidstone commentary
I’m paid to say things as they are Desmond
I don’t go off a script I simply talk about what goes on infront of my eyes - ultimately I’m not “barrow fan tv” yes I’m a barrow supporter and have been my whole life - but I’m commentating on a game of football and there is two sides involved in that game of football so while yes I want our side to win I wouldn’t be telling the whole story for the listeners if I just focused on one

Re: Maidstone commentary
And that's why opposing supporters regularly say how fair and balanced our commentary is. Personally, I don't want to hear "We wuz robbed" if that's patently not the case.Desmond2-2 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 8:10 amAgree he’s very good,James Philips is excellent though,I think where James has the edge is his biased view of games, being slightly more positive about his team.Ive listened to many local commentators over the last few years, and the vast majority are more positive about their team.
