2-0 up comfortable imo but they scored and we started to look a bit nervy. Whitfield excellent as usual, but big shout out to Canavan. Cool as a cucumber in defence, and gets rid of the ball but finds the man, had a great game tonight.

Utterly magnificent. Genuinely running out of words for the way they are now dismantling sides and the sides they are dismantling are now increasingly at the right end of the division.

The fact that opposition supporters just can’t see it gives me even greater satisfaction.

Speechless, we are in dreamland. It’s about the group rather than just the starting eleven, please, please, please can we just keep this run going. This season could be one that will be talked about for years to come. A big thanks to everyone at the club for giving us all hope that promotion may just be on the cards.

One of my shorter trips to see the lads. I'm still pinching myself - am I really watching Barrow!! In fact Whitfield reminded me of the great Tony Field tonight. To say we didn't play particularly well is rubbish. Barrow played away to a promotion contender and played the conditions and the opposition almost perfectly. Totally professional. Always looked a threat when we got forward defended really well for most of the game. We switched off a bit after our second goal then brought on the right subs and then blunted their attacks and got the third. Whats poor about that? Whatever happens for the rest of the season this game shows what a thoroughly professional club we've become. Surprising what can happen when the right manager is in charge.

The Crewe commentator is a [SwearFilter] disgrace. Calling for yellow and red cards for every Barrow challenge. Calling Farman lucky and not a league 2 keeper. I could go on. As Adam said last week I think, you have to be unbiased, even though it's difficult. This guy is is a nutter.

Ignore them - they just can't stand the fact that Barrow are a better team than them. I think if I remember rightly the guy was just as bad last season with his commentary. Thank God we have Alan.

Two great goals by Ben Whitfield tonight, both real opportunist efforts. The penalty looked a bit soft, but well taken by Ged Garner. He was limping heavily before half time so I thought he might have gone off then. I don’t like to get on Garner’s back, so I hope that goal will help him, but a goal in open play would have been better. When Acqua came on he had a much greater impact, but that was clearly PW’s plan. Tom White must really wind the opposition up! The ref finally got onto him tonight and gave him a stern talking to, so it’s great that we could then bring Dean Campbell on.

And all this without Luca Stephenson even on the bench - he has really impressed me this season so I hope it is genuine rotation (as PW suggests) as it would be a real shame to lose him back to Liverpool or elsewhere.

I was young last time we were this good (have we ever been this good??) and now I am old git, just brilliant times. James Chester needs to understand what promotion would mean to Barrow fans - 55 years on we can still name the 1967-68 team, so he can be part of that new history in 50 years time.

I know it’s a typo, but I’m thankful it’s not Partridge commentating “he’s got a foot like a traction engine”. Challenge for Adam to slip that line in to his next commentary
