Not at all phased, even though we've missed 7 points out of the last 9 on offer, as 2 games were against the top 2 teams.

We're very much in the mix for a top 3 spot and 6 points ahead of 7th team for a play-off spot and we've played 3 fewer home games where we are undefeated.

One loss in 15 games is the best record in the League, so we've every reason to remain optimistic if we remain focused and keep Garner and Proctor locked-up ;)

Wrexham will win the league imho; they were very good when they stepped up a gear. Think the Worrall injury really went against us, killed any momentum after that superb start. We weren’t terrible but you’d have to be 100% to be getting a result there, 2v1 at half time we’d have been still in it, 3v1 game was gone
For such a big club they really need to sort that away end out (yes yes the irony of a Barrow fan saying that) the turnstile situation was a shambles

Top 3 will go up so hopefully get a play-off spot which won't come easy, into the second part of the season now playing against sides like us wanting points for play-off places and sides trying to stay up, the good news is we will be a EFL side next season. :scarf:

We need a few in in the window, if PW thinks we can go to the end and push for play offs with this squad then fair do's. All i can see is the season tailing off IMO

I think we have done ok over this period. To amass this number of points is remarkable and we have only lost one game. The referees in this division really need a serious look at.For two of our players to come away with head injuries and have to be stretchered off is beyond the pale.It borders on dangerous play.
I thought that we played ok until Worrall's injury and then began to hold back because the ref wasn,t protecting our players. That resulted in the final score.I think our club has to ask for a meeting with the referee's association about the way three of our recent matches ,including this one has been handled.

Wild said that he had a long phone call with the chap (Jones?) who is responsible for refs last Saturday.

Maybe that was the plan - knock a couple of them out so we can bring on 6 subs 😉

We’ve heard it plenty of times after a great result:

“One win doesn’t make a season”

And neither does one defeat.

We’ll bounce back from this one. Keep the faith! :scarf:

Truth is that when you analyse the anatomy of this game then you can see why we lost as we did.

Wrexham have two great attributes. Firstly their attacking midfield and forward line is very mobile and very good. Even their defence has some attacking capabilities. They play a two paced game; one is quite controlled and actually a bit pedestrian; the other is super fast. They turn on the after burners but for short periods. That’s why they tend to score goals in clusters.

Their other attribute is that they are a very physical side. They like to bully the opposition. and as evidenced by their disciplinary record they get a fair share of reds But they don’t mind this because they are so effective up front.

Today they fell asleep at the start and took a good 20 minutes to wake up. Our tactics in that period were spot on. Slow them down and counter. The Worrall injury stopped the game in its tracks. For whatever reason we backed off at that point and allowed Wrexham to come on to us. You allow them the run of the pitch they will score. And they did in a cluster.

All the while they were gradually beating us up on the pitch. Well schooled in the dark arts and testing the referee who chose to allow anything that looked remotely subtle to go unpunished.

We played the game to Wrexham’s rules and we’re never going to win that game. Second half was a wierd repetition of the first. Disjointed, scrappy’ half paced with Wrexham bullying us with an accepted impunity.

Not suggesting that they were not superior or that we were not poor. Individual performances were not great apart from Farman, Spence and Whitfield and they did look leggy from the middle of the 2nd half. In fact the game had gone by then and they looked beaten - that doesn’t happen often this season.

What this should tell us is that the top three will be the top three at the end of the season. Our efforts need to be directed towards a play-off place. As has been said before we are not defined by one game. Others will now expect us to fall away. Tranmere will be a very tough test.

According to live text on BBC, Barrow had 2 substitutions due to injury (concussion) and 5 subs were used in total (6 on bench).

But there is NO mention that any Wrexham players were substituted for injury and 6 subs were used in total (7 on bench).

I thought only max. 5 subs were allowed, but don't know the rule details, Adam will know.

I was just wondering if our club should prosecute McClean for assault seeing that the ref failed to intervene. After all didn,t a Barrow player get sent to prison a few years ago for assaulting a Bristol player in a match. Our players need protecting which they haven,t been in the last three games. There must be ample video evidence to look at.Perhaps if the referees and their association isn,t prepared to do anything we should look at an alternative route. It may make them realise that they have to get their act together.
It,s only a suggestion for comments but something definitely needs doing when opposition players are getting away with thuggish behaviour which outside in the street would certainly lead to a prosecution.
Thoughts please.
