See, there is a positive from this!Bigfathoss wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:23 pm I'm regarding that red card as a bonus. Game was already done, and at least Proctor won't loom on the horizon for the next three matches.
Re: AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, match thread
I think the most embarrassing thing was seeing Proctor walking off the pitch and squaring up to the 4th official and pointing his finger in his face whilst clearly sharing some choice words. It took Jason Taylor to go over and push him down the tunnel. So embarrassing. Then again, the disciplinary record our coaching staff alone is hardly showing our players how to carry ourselves as individuals and people.
It just really irritated me seeing him talk to a guy just doing his job like that.

Re: AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, match thread
Just travelling back from the game.We were embarrassing.A lot of sideways passing with no real purpose.Wimbledon were another level and were all over us.Yet again we didn,t close players down allowing Wimbledon to nip in and score their two goals. Our passing needs to.be more accurate.Often the ball was hit with too much power landing away from where the person supposed to be receiving it was. We also didn,t chase balls down allowing Wimbledon to capatalise on our mistakes.Hopefully.we play better against Forest Green.

Don't wish to disappoint some people but Pete Wild said he has seen the incident and Jamie Procter did not kick the player on the floor like the fourth official was suppose to have told the referee he had done.olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:25 pmSee, there is a positive from this!Bigfathoss wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:23 pm I'm regarding that red card as a bonus. On that basis, will there be an appeal?
Re: AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, match thread
I think the word embarrassing is a little strange/harsh. This is L2 these players are L2 standard so we are going to be inconsistent at times. The main issue is to find a way through this "sticky" patch asap.
Didn't go to game but was a bit surprised to see Spence substituted quite early - why was that?

That comfortable gap could change again on Tuesday Matty if we beat Forest Green Rovers.Matty wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:22 pm Need to find some consistency in my opinion. That comfortable gap we had in the playoffs has narrowed right up, there's about 5 or 6 teams in there that will have an eye on those final couple of spots, most if not all have games in hand on us, some of which we've still got to play, including Gillingham twice. Our last third of the season isn't as "favourable" as it may have seemed a few weeks ago, however we are still in a good position to have a real go of achieving something unfathomable.
Crewe are at Stockport, MK Dons at Bradford and Harrowgate at Mansfield.

So as it stands, there is violent conduct but also abusive language.. which one is it?saltcellar wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:35 pmDon't wish to disappoint some people but Pete Wild said he has seen the incident and Jamie Procter did not kick the player on the floor like the fourth official was suppose to have told the referee he had done.

Looking at the stats, barrow seemed disciplined regarding fouls compared to them, was the ref any good??
Re: AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, match thread
I never ever get this argument. You can still be consistent at your own level and within your own ability. Wrexham won the national league with 100+ points last season, a level below us. Were they and their players not consistent?

Wrexham had players players dropping down 2 3 leagues to play against farmers and plumbers

I think we should lodge an appeal against the red card. With a bit of luck it will be doubled to 6 games.janwilder wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 5:27 pm I think the most embarrassing thing was seeing Proctor walking off the pitch and squaring up to the 4th official and pointing his finger in his face whilst clearly sharing some choice words. Hopefully Aquah back on Tuesday.

Wrexham was the obvious example. If I really need to I can trawl the lower leagues for the literally hundreds of examples where teams and players have been consistent. Like when Andy Whittaker scored 40 goals in a single season for us, as another less obvious example.
It's a bizarre argument that makes zero sense.

Re: AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, match thread
Wrexham won the national league with many players playing two levels below where their ability and consistency would get them. They were there for one thing and one thing only money. What we have is a good EFL2 squad and a good EFL2 squad by its nature is inconsistent at times during the season. A step up even to EFL One would be a step to far for the majority of our current squad IMO

Do people think we can win every week, we are not Wrexham, oh [SwearFilter] they lost again, and are still behind us in the league. Move on!
Re: AFC Wimbledon v Barrow, match thread
No, an average L2 team is inconsistent. A good L2 team is by definition, consistently good which I think we have been this season by and large.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 6:27 pmWrexham won the national league with many players playing two levels below where their ability and consistency would get them.
