Gillingham ve Barrow, match thread

You right Jonty but we must never forget how far we’ve come and that we are little ol’ Barrow. We continue to strive towards shooting ourselves in the foot at every opportunity. Decisions going against us, 50/50 going against us long/short passes going astray. Come on Wildy sort it, it’s always been ours to throw away. Yes it’s in our hands but it’s only because of other results going for us. No way should we be getting hammered 3-0 even down to 10 men period.

Footballs a funny old game, FGR almost relegated for sure, and they spent 200k more on agent fees than us this season. Getting a large/loud crowd for our last two home games should surely help us get over the line, would be great to experience the play offs at this level, but what will be will be.

It was a tough old listen too. As you know it’s in our dna to never take the easy route. We can do this and I still believe we will.
Then when we have that lottery ticket in our hands who knows! A bit of confidence and consistent form would certainly help though

Whatever happens Pete will now know who to keep and who to get rid of , pressure shows who can be relied on and who can't, I said to Paul this might happen because I looked at our squad and 13 players are good but when you have to dig deep people then have to knuckle down and without mentioning names ( think everybody has an idea) there's some of our squad who's hearts don't appear to be with our club so if we did miss out ,I'm certain our management will put things right!

Good job we didn't hand out contracts for next season but we still have a few already on contract for next season.

This; it’s like they’ve suddenly realised what we could achieve by making the play offs and it’s frozen us. Still think if we can just get back to basics and with a bit of luck in running we can pick up the 4 points we probably need to make the top 7

That’s the problem it’s like we’ve got vertigo, we should be fearing no one from the position we’ve been in and still are, we’ve took on and frightened the best this season hence the frustration over the last few games. I truly hope and trust we can find a way through this run so come on lads do it for Barrow.

If we win 1 more match, only Crawley, Doncaster and Walsall could finish above us.

Crawley would have to beat us and win at Sutton which I expect them to do.
Doncaster would have to beat us and also win at Colchester and Gillingham which is quite tough.
Walsall would have to beat Swindon and Bradford City at home and Wimbledon away. I expect them to win both home games but Wimbledon away will be tough.

The problem being that the way we have played in the last 3 matches, I can't see us beating anybody!

I didn't expect much from the Gillingham, Crawley and Doncaster away matches although I thought Gillingham was easily the most likely chance of a win but I had the Swindon and Bradford City home matches down as definite home wins which would have been enough.
If Mansfield have not clinched an automatic place then I can't see us beating them so we need to beat another awful team in Bradford City and hope Mansfield have nothing to play for in the last match or hope that neither Doncaster nor Walsall win all of their last 3 matches!

I didn't expect much from the Gillingham, Crawley and Doncaster away matches although I thought Gillingham was easily the most likely chance of a win but I had the Swindon and Bradford City home matches down as definite home wins which would have been enough.
If Mansfield have not clinched an automatic place then I can't see us beating them so we need to beat another awful team in Bradford City and hope Mansfield have nothing to play for in the last match or hope that neither Doncaster nor Walsall win all of their last 3 matches!

It feels like a crisis mainly because we lost at home to Swindon. If we had beaten them, I think we would have accepted two away defeats on the assumption that our home form would get is through. I still think we competed quite well at Morecambe and were a bit unlucky, but the last two games have been poor. I just watched today's highlights and it is a concern that we conceded twice from balls through the defensive line. Our success this season has been built on a solid defence, but it has suddenly got leaky. Hope Pete can find a way to make it watertight again.

Another poor performance but looking at the league table it's in our own hands and 3pts would go a long way, but can see it going down to the last 2 home games, hopefully both games attract big crowds to support the lads let's hope Mansfield players on the beach.

Time for cool heads I think. Result is a stinker however we've been on the end of a few of those this season, it was always going to be difficult playing for 70 minutes with ten men, we don't look like coming from behind at the best of times. Roll up Tuesday night and see what happens. Agree with Wild in the terms of it wasn't worth risking Stockton etc once the game was gone.

Mansfield only need 1 point from home games against Accrington and Gillingham to clinch promotion before visiting Barrow.
They surely will have achieved that.

The way the last few games have gone you would think we don't want promotion.
I was talking to someone on Thursday who was asked to buy into the football when Paul Carson left.
He basically says we could no to afford to go up.
Success on the field might actually mean financial ruin.
Call me cynical but it makes sense.
Where would the extra revenue come from to establish us in the first division

Thank God we've got 1 and 2 games in hand on other close teams as we're going need to need them.

They're only any good if you get something from them!
