Overall , a very good season .. I don't think we lost it today ... but in some of the more easily winnable games over the last two months . It's largely a new experience for most supporters ...and for most of the players and the management team too . We will learn from this and be all the stronger for it next season . Look at the consistency being shown yet again by Man City at the business end of the season ... and compare it to the performances of Arsenal and Liverpool ... experience in these situations counts ... and we have gained a good deal of that this season . I hope we will be stronger in terms of the playing squad next time around ...although this time round has seen a big improvement . I have a feeling looking at who is coming down ...and who might be promoted ...that next season may be slightly easier than this season ...if we set up right ...as I'm sure we will . So ...time for reflection, for sure ...but some very good memories of this season ... As for me ...I'm already looking ahead to next time around ... and a few more bumper crowds like todays' to boost the finances and the pressure on opponents too.

Can't grumble after today's performance but I will question taking Stockton off.. fair play to Mansfield fans for not legging it on to pitch and well done to everyone associated with the club.

It's been a rollercoaster for sure, that's football and that's why we love the game.

Can't fault anyone on the pitch today, they all did us proud.

So that’s that then; I can’t say I started the day with much expectation so I’m already over the play off failure. Credit to those supporters who got behind the team today though you did us proud.

I will say though that the second half of the season was just not good enough, had it not been for the strong start we’d have been down there worrying with Colchester and Sutton.

I’m curious though some supporters seems just to be grateful just to be in the EFL and can tolerate poor performances better because we’re Barrow and a small club; I do not subscribe to that view.


The players and PW blew it pure and simple; it’s 11v11 on the the pitch that’s all that matters; a lack of infrastructure or our history in non league is of no relevance come 3pm and it’s frustrating to see that shite that’s been dished out in 2024 being excused.

So what’s next ? We’ve got possibly the biggest summer in Barrow’s history coming up; where do we want to be? Is L2 the pinnacle of our achievements or are we now going to slowly (or quickly) decline back into non league?

If we are serious about having a crack at L1 then changes in personnel are needed.

PW has one hell of a job on his hands. I look forward to the comments from the board but I’d like to hear something solid not just the usual platitudes about a great season and being disappointed and not getting over the line; we go again next season etc.

I want acknowledgment that we failed in our objective and also what we are going to do about it.

Cracking season overall. Filled us with hope at Xmas. Wobbled in early 24 recovered and wobbled again with 6 games to go. Over achieved throughout against some big boys but feels like a disappointment as we'd hoped for a play off spot at least. Yes gutted right now. Messed up last 5 games but I'd take this over bottom 5 survival any day. Well done Pete and the boys.

I'm sure you have failed in many objectives. We are nowhere near L1 standard. To be close to it is a miracle. I know you are hurt but you should be grateful for a Barrow side who were faves to get relegated to have cone so close. I'm also gutted but a realist.

So frustrating because today we showed what we can do ,think we need 3 defenders, 2 for the middle, we're too slow, and a right back.
I hope Pete rethinks his tactics, I d love to see us play 4-3-3 at home then change it for the away games, too often we've scraped results and been on the backfoot for a lot of the home games.
anyway time will tell, just hope we can keep Spence and Campbell!

An 8th place finish in League Two, is heading in the right direction for me.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m definitely not a happy clapper. I just know where we have been, and where we are now, and I’m feeling proud and optimistic for the future.

Come on mate. Just 6 seasons ago we finished 20th in the National League. 2 seasons ago we finished 22nd in League Two.
