Any position that guarantees league football for the 2025/26 season.

Re: Where do we expect us to finish?
Ok let’s just look at the facts.
1. We have a much stronger squad than last season.
2.The league has also lost two big spending sides in Wrexham and Stockport.
3.The four clubs that got relegated from League One aren’t as strong as many people think they are (I can’t see Simpson lasting long if Carlisle don’t start well) and the two that got promoted from the National League are not in the same league as Wrexham and Notts County were last season.
So I’m predicting anywhere from 3rd to 6th. Can’t understand why some people think we’ll be just making up the numbers, admittedly we might have a slow start but we’ll be right up there in the mix come May. Last season I predicted we’d finish between 7th to 10th.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if we finish in the top half of the table.
Re: Where do we expect us to finish?
Agree we have a strong squad and don’t think we’ll be making up the numbers but we are going into the season with the same front line with the addition of Dallas whilst losing Stockton. I think we will need two of these hitting 30 goals between them to get into the top 7 whilst staying as tight at the back as last season. It’s going to be hard to follow up on that.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

Top half of the table for the 3rd season on the bounce, becoming an established L2 team

I look at the forthcoming season the way I look at todays encounter - I haven't a bloody clue! Though I'm sure I will have a clue in about a months time.
Whether you are predicting a date with the Gods or fire and brimstone with the Devil, it's another adventure and I wish all a happy and prosperous season. Especially if your name is Clemence.

The higher up the league the better, but I'll be happy with anywhere that means we are not involved in a relegation dogfight, and looking over our shoulders from Christmas.

8th again, with all the pain that causes (but still much better than 21st or 22nd). Play-offs would be great, as it should have been last season (I don’t want to go over it again, but can you imagine how it would have been if we had held onto the lead at Doncaster? Arrgh….don’t go there!!
)
Re: Where do we expect us to finish?
Not sure what to expect with a new manager, largely new defence and the loss of 2 good attackers in Whitfield and Stockton. Hopefully a bit better football and attacking threat but I’d say 10-12 games in we’ll have an idea where we are and need to improve.
Mid table would be my guess.

Never lost 2 good attackers, Whitfield didn`t want to stay and Stockton on loan not our player.Scott5 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 12:47 pm Not sure what to expect with a new manager, largely new defence and the loss of 2 good attackers in Whitfield and Stockton. Re: Where do we expect us to finish?
Still a loss though and tough to replace. But for Stockton we'd have been out of the play offs well before we were and Whitfield was always a threat but underused I thought at times. Re: Where do we expect us to finish?
After reading the posts the last 24 hours and another total meltdown with nearly all the team being not fit to burn we will be lucky to avoid relegation, it won`t be to long before some want Clemence/Stockdale sacking the joys of supporting Barrow in the EFL.
