Re: Barrow v Cheltenham Town, match thread
Cheltenham made the win difficult due to their negative tactics, they got away with some dark arts!, great header from Aqua but the finish from Dallas was top drawer, Stokes and Vassell, Jackson brilliant in defence , we're really missing Gotts but good to see Spence back, good 3 points

Good to see two strikers scoring. A successful team has goals coming from all over the pitch, but having Vassell as our top league striker is a bit odd. Particularly pleased for Andy Dallas - he looks strong and fast, so he could be great once he gets started. For all the stick Acqua gets for his first touch, he has scored some important goals - scoring in the 47th minute was crucial today, helped avoid a nervous chase for the equaliser.

Good result in the end despite it being a pretty dull game. Don't want to criticise as I think he's doing a fairly good job but I wish the new stadium announcer would stop sounding so excited when announcing the scorers for away teams

Some of the things he let go were outrageous, Cheltenham very cynical team so it's even better beating them late on !

We were well off it first half but credit to keep going and two well worked goals to win it.
We found a way well played Bluebirds

QUESTION
When was the last time Barrow never had a corner in a game at Holker Street?
(Cheltenham only had one, took it short and wasted it)

Re: Barrow v Cheltenham Town, match thread
With today’s 2-1 win over Cheltenham, Barrow are back in third place with the top four teams on 19 points. Gillingham lost at Crewe and Walsall were held at Chesterfield as Doncaster kept pace with the Bluebirds by beating Grimsby away.
Little happened in the first 40 minutes of the game, the two teams nullifying each others advances towards goal. The first chance fell to the Bluebirds, a good cross from Jackson being headed wide by Spence on the half hour.
However, the visitors nudged in front in the 41st minute, a good run and cross by Archer being parried by Stanway, but Bowman fired the rebound home.
Just after the restart, Popov tested Evans with a shot from the edge of the area.
Less than two minutes into the second half, we were level. A fine cross by Newby from the left found Acquah who headed home. Five minutes later, Popov shot high and wide from a Spence cross. In the 55th minute another cross by Newby resulted in a close-range Foley header which Evans saved at full stretch.
Sadly, the momentum gained didn’t continue with the game becoming scrappy again. Popov was replaced by Kouyate, and Cheltenham brought on Willcox for Norkett. Willcox was then booked for a foul on Campbell. With 20 minutes of normal time remaining, Acquah made way for Dallas while Telford replaced Foley, Kouyate was then booked for a foul on Stubbs and in the 77th minute Eccleston replaced Feely.
The first and only corner of the game was for Cheltenham in the 81st minute. The left-hand kick was played short, but a free kick was then awarded for a foul on Colwill by Spence. Before the free kick was taken, Colwill was replaced by Dulson.
Jackson cleared the free kick off the line, saving a certain goal.
Two minutes later Jackson was the hero again when a rapid cross fired from the left found Dallas at the near post who tapped in for 2-1 in the 85th minute.
We survived the four minutes of added time- although Stanway was booked for timewasting- to hopefully get back on a winning streak.
Attendance was 3,510.

Re: Barrow v Cheltenham Town, match thread
I had a moan last week about BBC RC post-match but, fair play, we've had our fair share of the pie tonight. Thanks, folks.
Don't let the old man in.
