Terrible weather but that’s not an excuse. We needed to be a lot better in the final third. Don’t know what’s up with Tiensia but he never gets a chance.
Sometimes Jonty a point is better than nothing, when he took Feely and Foley off we weakened the side Eccleston is a terrible defender good in the air but his general awareness is shocking when Foley went off we brought Spence back didn't make sense ,Gardner was doing OK Aqua is no good in conditions like that he can't control a ball at the best of times!
Maybe we did go too gung-ho but Morecambe weren’t showing anything and were there for the taking so he had a go but we were always vulnerable to the sucker punch. We never put a decent ball across the box in the way that won it for them.
Massively disappointing because we had a real chance today to put this lot to the sword and go top.

He played vs Fleetwood and was poor. I thought he’d be our left back for the season until Jackson came in.

We don’t see these players every day in training like the coaching staff do buy Tiensia attitude was called into question last season by our previous manager. I’m not sure what’s happening with David Worrall. Not in squad at fleetwood or today and I haven’t heard anything about an injury either

I think clemence said afterwards that he put all the personnel he could on to win us the game. Unfortunately that personnel isn’t good enough. Telford and Aquah not good enough imo and up front again is where we are very lacking and stopping us imo from being a top of the table team. I’d have liked to have seen Gotts get a bit more game time but coming back from injury Clemence said he didn’t really want to put him on
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

As someone once said, we weren't bad, we were just not very good. In spite of so much possession, we rarely looked like scoring and, midway through the second half, I realised that although we looked the better side, it was Morecambe who had had two or three dangerous looking chances to our none. A breakway winner was thus no surprise.

I think on this occasion the team selection was wrong. I would like to see Dallas as the front man with Garner just behind him. There were hardly any decent crosses into the box today and one of the few defence-splitting passes from Campbell came right at the end, when Dallas was just beaten to the ball by the keeper. Kouyate was ineffective and Newby looks better on the left but who to play on the right? Where is Worrall these days - injured or legs have gone?

Those goals from other players are still missing .
Telford and Aquah not up to it.

Clemence was the only person in the entire Furness peninsular today who thought starting a lone-striker up front by himself against the bottom of the league side was a good idea. Unfortunately he gets to pick the team.
As for Telford, like the vast majority on here just can't see what he gets out of trying to keep his kit clean every Saturday. Got to be loaned out this January. Who would want him is anybodies guess. Won't be a league club that's for definite. Maybe our new CEO can get this sorted sooner, never want to see the lad wearing the shirt again he contributes absolutely nothing and never has.

Doom n gloom merchants out in force. Yes we were not great, wind ruined it. They never looked like scoring and we certainly didn’t. Both our wide players minus kayote in first 20 were awful but anyone who expected us to be top of league after 11 games needs to give their head a shake. You couldn’t say it was through lack of effort and nobody means to misplace a pass

Terrible conditions for football. Holker Street must be the worst place in the EFL to play football if there is any wind at all. Completely open and games are just ruined. Even given that, Morecambe turned out to be just as bad as their league position said they would be and Barrow were clearly the better football team although that wasn't saying a lot! However, as a few of us have been saying since the season started, we have been carried by a good defence (now without 2 key players in Farman and Canavan) and 2 good midfielders in Campbell and Spence. Our attacking force is now proving just how poor they are and unless we pick up a couple of even average strikers we will continue to drift down to the position I always expected in the bottom half of the league. We have now scored no goals in 5 of the last 6 matches and I honestly can't see us winning against anybody away from home unless we do as Morecambe today and manage a win without doing anything. A great shame as this is the poorest EFL2 since we were promoted by a large margin with not one outstanding team but the teams who end up in the top 8 will all have at least 1 striker with some pace and/or a goalscorer. We don't have any with pace, skill or energy.

SayitagainSam wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 6:02 pm You just knew it - lost both derby games to bottom and 2nd bottom in the league.

Morecambe's first clean sheet in 25 games, for goodness sake.

What further evidence is needed re. the quality of our forwards.

I agree with others:

* Telford is waste of space - has been since his arrival.

* Kouyate tries to dribble and beat 2 or 3 defenders at speed - but he has NO ball control.

* Jackson thinks he's kicking 2 points through the uprights at Craven Park.

* There was a positive - 4600 attendance. Might be the high of the season.

I will repay the Shrimps for what they did today and will never go to Happy Mount Park again!
Got to say that although no need for a meltdown and we are sixth I totally agree with some of the above.

Telford - If we are honest for a previous top scorer in the league has been poor for goals. Great signing at the time but has not provided the goods

Kouyate - Could do with trying to learn of Newbs for trying to beat people

Jackson - This guy is one of our best players if not the best (in my opinion) Just needs to get used to the wind here

In my opinion Newby needs to be on the left at all costs. Feely just seems a bit out of his depth at times (but does have the odd really good game) I would go with Eccleston. Now Gotts is back give Foley a rest a use him as a super sub at 70 mins.

Dallas as the main man up front. Came on today and tried to take people on with a mazy run and hit the post.

Garner behind him as I have seen a spark in him this season that has been lacking last year.

We are all football managers at heart but this is my opinion.

I do totally trust in the gaffer though.

Worrall has been a huge disappointment since we got him, he’ll be off to bottom half NL club in the summer. He was another one of wilds expensive “good to have round the dressing room” players.

True but he's no worse than Kouyate even though he's at the end of his career and although I'm not sure exactly which of our signings were post Wild I doubt very much if his overall record of signings would be comparatively worse than the signings since he left.

But at the moment we are now looking at getting young lads in that we can sell on. Port Vale got rid and we thought that was a bit quick hence taking a punt on him. Shows so far that Port Vale were right.
Vale fans were saying best winger in league 1. Rose tinted glasses I think.

We didn't show up, we didn't perform on the day of another derby AGAIN.. we just looked meh .. no passion, drive, determination! We know we can turn it on as we have all seen it.. won't take weather as an excuse, it's our home ground and we know it's shite but we have rarely used that to our advantage!!

Morecambe fans were a good bunch all 200 plus taking the absolute [SwearFilter] out of me.. fair play. Said it other day, they are better than position shows and kinda guessed we would not beat them.

Still tight at the top so no need for flappy heads. Another chance to bounce back and match Forward.
