I enjoyed the music at the end. Seemed apposite.

I also enjoyed the game which was good and competitive between two evenly-matched sides for the top third of the table.

Some decisions by the referee seemed quite lenient, some inconsistent, too. Even over our return spell in the League, there seems to have been a noticeable increase in shirt-pulling and man-handling which detracts from the spectacle. Is a three-person team of on-field match officials sufficient to identify and manage all that is going on?

I didn't enjoy the result. (It didn't spoil my evening though. I understand that such things happen.)

Listened to the post match interview clemence clearly frustrated like us all at the lack of goals. I thought he could have been asked why not play Telford in the 10 instead of foley? Or when spence is fit play him at cm running from deep where he was effective last season. In the 10 spence is nowhere near as effective having to find cute passes and battling with CBs closing down his space.
Also can we stop pushing the narrative Feely is a 'big player' he is bang average and isn't the best right back at the club. If you want to be a promotion challenging team, Rory Feely isn't your right back, Eccleston offers way more in every aspect and should be a guaranteed starter.

Sorry to drift slightly off topic and showing my age but can someone tell me what a No.10 is. In my youth it was the inside left. Now ? Who knows as they could also have No.73 on their back. On the same subject I still haven't fathomed what a 'false No.9' is unless its a No.6 doing a handstand.

False 9 - a centre forward who isn’t actually a striker - Kian Spence played in the role last few mins v Bromley

“Number 10” is an attacking midfielder based just behind the leading striker

It might be apposite but it's not the job of the PA to empathise with crowd melancholy. I know the gate wasn't huge but emphasising misery / stoicism is hardly going to get any new spectators in the mood to return.

The games all about opinions and with respect I don't agree with yours. Eccleston has the potential to be a very good player. ATM he looks like what he is a young footballer with a lot to learn. He is nieve at times and gets caught out of position a bit like Hutton was. Feely is a better defender than Eccleston IMO

It's not worth a separate thred, but I see that the Hollywood lot lost at harrogate today. They won't be happy about that.

A 1-0 win with a goal from 34 year old Jack Muldoon - now there's a player who has scored consistently throughout most of his career.

Red Passion awash with 'We haven't a striker capable of scoring a goal' - where have I heard that before. Apparently Mullin is way off the pace at the moment. Perhaps L1 defences (today excepted) have sussed his histrionics.

Absolutely it is. Do you think feely is a big player for us? Also do you think for us to be successful Feely is the right back we need long term?

I'll have a fair wager Eccleston achieves more/plays at a higher level than Feely does by the end of there careers.

Feely is currently the best right back at the club IMO. If you define successful as getting automatic promotion no he isn’t to that standard but he is in my opinion play off standard but not a league one player.
Ecclestton is much younger but he has the potential to play higher but at this moment in time he shows that potential in flashes as well as his inexperience and poor positional play. He is a young lad learning his trade who has much to learn imo

Shame we lost , we’d have only needed to beat Kettering in the next round to get a potential big draw again

Northampton will have thought it would be a walkover.
The difference is Kettering have forwards who can score.
Two ex Prem Players Nile Range ex Newcastle being one who bagged a goal.

28 goals from 172 games says otherwise..
