If we had been chasing the game 1-0 down I bet we would't get an equaliser. Doncaster (away), Accrington & Morecambe have proved that so that is concerning.

It's now getting psychological as we almost seem to believe the opposition will get a goal in the last 10 mins of a game. They need to, collectively, get over that.

The amount of last minute/injury time goals I've recently seen, particularly in this league is staggering see Salford (today & at Fleetwood recently) and Morecambe today. We got a late winner against Cheltenham but that's about the only one I remember recently we've done that to the opposition.

I've said it before but we desperately need a lucky winner against someone who has outplayed us for most of the game. That's the sort of lift this team needs.

Didn't make game today but reading the above comments it seems that the second half shows a team that does't really believe that it can see out the game.

Then we disagree. He hasn't put a shift in for months and his time here will be, and should be, seen as a disappointment.

Telford was decent. Ran his heart out worked his butt off. Some very clever link up play with some great lay offs. Lack of game time showed second half as he tired but I agree his all round play was good. He needs a run of games from the off to get his match fitness to where it should be

Part psychological but also the way our team is set up ,it's geared to keep possession and get the ball out wide ,so every team now makes changes and come at us trouble is we don’t have player's in the squad to counter this we just have lots of wide men and so called forwards we're really lacking in midfield unfortunately Foley is nearing the end of his career and we've got no one else when any midfielder gets injured or suspended the only person to blame for this is Clemence total lack of foresight!

Shit on the pitch and off it today it seems. Couldn’t get through fanzone at full time due to sewage all over. How many times are we going to throw a win away, one goal not enough and we can’t kill games off.

It is now 5 weeks since Barrow’s last win, dominating the first half but failing to find that second goal - while playing deeper in the second half and conceding late equalisers- becoming a consistent theme. This is added to our age-old Achilles heel of underperforming against teams at the bottom end of the table.

We then leave ourselves vulnerable to mistakes and the vagaries of refereeing decisions. Many on the popular side thought Vassell was fouled in the build up to Colchester’s goal, others and the referee felt otherwise. Others thought that we were denied a penalty when Newby went down in the box a minute later but the officials waved appeals away.

Colchester had the first attempt on goal in the 14th minute, Stanway doing well to punch away a Gordon shot for a corner, However, we dominated the half from then, Spence spurning a golden opportunity in the 21st minute when he skied over the bar from close range after an excellent run and cross from Eccleston.

We did make the breakthrough on the half hour, breaking from a Colchester corner. An excellent run by Newby down the left found Mahoney then Eccleston who crossed back to Newby. Our No.11 then fired a shot high into the goal from the left side of the area.

Five minutes later Egbo replaced an injured Hunt for the visitors. Barrow saw the first half out confidently but unfortunately proved unable to further capitalise on possession.

In the first minute of the second half we won a corner, following which a sharp shot from Mahoney was saved by Macey.

Spence was then booked for a foul on Taylor and the visitors stepped up a gear. In the 58th minute Stanway came out to thwart a dangerous attack down the right but Anderson rounded to cross along the line with a last ditch clearance from a Barrow defender.

On the hour Iandolo was booked for a foul on Gotts.

In the 68th minute Stanway saved from Anderson for a corner. We then replaced Mahoney and Telford with Kirk and Dallas, while Colchester replaced Woodyard with Tovide. Spence went down injured in the 75th minute and had to be replaced by Popov. Colchester replaced Anderson with Thorn

The visitors kept up their pressure, In the 82nd minute, Canavan halted Tovide on a break towards our goal and was carded. Payne’s free kick from a dangerous position was blocked.

Feely then replaced Eccleston but the all the accumulated changes appeared to further unsettle the team. With five minutes of normal time remaining Newby as announced as man-of-the-match as Barrow fans hoped his goal would be enough- but many feared it wouldn’t after recent setbacks.

Tovide looked for a penalty in Barrow’s box in the 88th minute but was instead booked for diving. Stanway was then booked for timewasting and 5 minutes of added time was announced.

Popov had a chance to strengthen our lead but fired over. In the second minute of added time, Vassell appeared to be fouled during a rapid break down the right by Tovide. No foul was given and Tovide accurately crossed to Taylor who made no mistake from close range for the equalizer.

From the kick off we broke away and many were incensed when Newby appeared to be fouled in the box, penalty appeals being waved aside.

Desperate Barrow attempts to regain the lead nearly came to fruition when Jackson just failed to make contact with a long ball in front of goal. However, once again there was the deflating feeling of two points thrown away at the end.

The crowd was 3,179 including 132 visiting fans.

Agree. Was following on my BBC app all afternoon & lost connection near the end for a couple of minutes. When I got the connection back I just knew they had scored.....and they had.
