We are 15th.. ten from playoffs and ten from the team propping the league up (Carlisle)

Today was a disaster on an epic scale.. was total bad luck with shoulder injury on debut and if it's as bad as mine was when I played, he will be out for at least 3-4 weeks.
We did what we did last match, changed formation and didn't play. Unlike last outing, we didn't get going in the second half and for me, showed no fight at all..

No urgency on throw ins, free kicks, corners etc lack of movement on set pieces, we just didn't look remotely bothered today and that worries me!!!

A poor Barrow performance saw Harrogate deservedly take the spoils. We remain in 15th place but our opponents today- plus Tranmere and Accrington- have all gained ground by winning.

The omens were poor as we conceded 6 corners in the first ten minutes. In the 19th minute a couple of bad fouls in quick succession on Canavan and Jackson saw only Morris booked, while four minutes later Burrell was carded for a foul on Spence.

Despite a good ball forward by Gotts and cross by Newby, no-one was in front of goal to convert a good 25th minute chance. Kyle Cameron went down injured and had to be replaced by Neo Eccleston on the half hour.

Belshaw parried a shot from Dallas two minutes later.

However, the score remained 0-0 at half time and Harrogate started the second half as brightly as they started the first.

We did have the first chance on goal in the second period, Acquah’s close range headed from a Newby cross saved in the 53rd minute.

Three minutes later we conceded after not clearing a Harrogate corner, Muldoon scrambling a close-range header for 1-0.

A poor goal to concede and things were going to get worse. Eccleston was booked for a foul on March two minutes later. Another three minutes and Harrogate were 2-0 up. A fast break and shot by March, fed originally by Muldoon, exposed our threadbare defence again.

A triple change by Clemence in the 68th minute saw more fight injected and a few half chances- but no goals. Fletcher, Kirk and Garner came on for Dallas, Newby and Acquah.

In the 75th minute Daly fouled Eccleston in the area and we had a chance to score from the spot. However, Mahoney blasted his penalty over the bar.

Had we scored the finish might have been more interesting, but Harrogate snuffed out any remaining hope. In the 83rd minute, Vassell was booked for an infringement in the area as Barrow prepared to take a corner.

Seven minutes of extra time came to nothing, Folarin replacing March for Harrogate. Spence was given Barrow’s man of the match, a match best forgotten.

Attendance 3,148 including 98 visiting fans.
