It looks like the system worked ok today - 54% possession, 16 shots with 5 on target, while Newport only had 3 shots with 2 on target. It looks from the stats like we dominated the game, are creating chances up front and limiting the opposition at the back.

I am not sure what else the manager can do if we can't put away our chances and then make errors at the back.
Stick the strikers on earlier instead of mahooony!

When do we start questioning Ian wood properly? he brought these players in. Useless!

I would rather spend money on 1 decent striker than signing players whose previous records are not good and that’s being nice !

People seem to forget that Andy Dallas was not our player. Don't know the facts but quite possible Barnsley wanted him moved on because he wasn't getting the game time that loaning a player out is often designed for. Wouldn't be the first time this has happened. Remember Chesterfield recalling Darikwa and Clay who were not being played. Both went elsewhere before embarking on succesful careers, the former still playing for Lincoln.

On the whole, we did ok and it was unfortunate that we scored their goal..another mistake. We looked quite solid til that point and then the heads dropped..

[SwearFilter] around with throw ins and corners, we need to have more haste and not let anyone chance to re group and defend. Some decision making with passing going forward is poor and again, we need to be more accretive.

Acqua was up front on his own and he was in the same line as the midfield!.
We weren't too far off a four four two and I think personally, we should be going back to basics for the remainder of the season and having two up front with four behind and four defensively.
Canavan, out captain needs to be just that and start doing his job better! Didn't look like he was commanding at all today!
Acqua did very well today and put in a shift but at times, he's like Bambi on ice.. we need to nurture him and improve him but when the chips are down, hook him off and get the firepower on! Presley's positioning and touch is better than acquas,, he needs to start next game and have either smith or gotts up with him!

In terms of luck we were fortunate the first two seasons when we came back up that there were clubs like Oldham, Scunthorpe and Southend that were imploding. Luck certainly shone on us then.

Promotion & Relegation places are never sorted after the first 7 games but can help if you start well or poor, after our first 7 games we had 16pts thankfully we started well how we turn this around is anyone's guess, its a total mess, makes you wonder how many players want to be here next season only 4 of the starting line-up on contract for next season.

I don't think we will go down but it's not going to be an easy ride for the remainder of the.season unless we buck ourselves up and start showing some fight!

Can anybody explain to me why Whing is bemoaning lack of goals at the club yet starts with his two new strikers on the bench and a midfield that has less than 5 assists between them. Against a side who has lost 5 out of the last 6.

Poor game like so many others this season and one we lost by conceding a ridiculous goal again. Yes there was a clear push in the build up on vassell but Newby lost it afterwards and then Cameron and Farman didn’t communicate and it was in the net. Can’t blame the referee for that.

That aside newport didn’t really threaten but then neither did we. Plenty of possession and effort but same old story, no quality or creativity upfront despite the array of players we’ve signed and used.

Acquah on his own will never work and the formation in the first place was negative and set up for a point. Newport were poor but so are we. The bottom two being even worse than us may save us but it’s going to be a long end to the season at this rate.

Whing has his work cut out because the team isn’t good enough. Cameron I hope never plays for us again, awful and not just for the own goal. Newby not good enough. Pressley can win headers but flicks them up to no one seems unable to get any power on them. It reminds me of the season prior to Evatt taking over. A dreadful team to watch, can’t score goals and have a tendency to ship daft ones. Whing has his work cut out and I wouldn’t be so sure that we won’t go down.

We have to trust Whing to get on with it and find a formula that works. It certainly won’t happen overnight that’s for sure.
