Spent the afternoon with a couple of Bluebirds stalwarts in the Borough Arms in Crewe.

Great ale, and great company as Crewe fans despite being stuffed by Newport actually started providing updates on the HS
game. Lovely people and proper football supporters who were happy to share in our celebrations. Great day.

Andy has made a difference .
He seems open and honest even when talking about his own career.

It was a very poor Gillingham side .
We still lack quality in terms of a finisher but under the previous regime we would have struggled to get a draw

Let's celebrate but not get over confident.
We hopefully will stay up and Andy will have a period at the end of the season when he can add to this team.

We looked a totally different team in the second half with every player intent on attacking Gillingham's goal.Whatever Andy Whing said it worked.Presley was a revelation.That rocket he sent goalwards very nearly went in and that performance was after one weeks worrh of training.If that is what we have to look forward to I can,t see us dropping out of this league and maybe even climbing it.Hopefully more of the same on Tuesday night.Onwards and upwards.Its been a long time since I,ve been able to say that.

In fairness to Smith, he seems to be on decent form as a finisher. 3 starts 2 goals. Has had less than 180 minutes (2 full games) on the pitch. And this when fitting into a team that was struggling.
Still, as you say, mustn’t show any inkling of over confidence or positivity.

Yes, that second-half was a pleasure to watch after a slightly worrying first-half when we didn't look like we could open up a poor Gillingham side.

Foley is an example; local kids should watch to see how a model pro performs, irrespective of the years on the clock. Good to see Spence back doing what he was doing last season.

What a great goal by Tyler Smith . . . I suppose I should rephrase that because it was a simple goal, the sort that you or I would have put away (well, maybe not I, as my zimmer might have got in the way). But when I say 'great goal' I just mean he was in the perfect place at the perfect time and that makes a refreshing change as my counting ability doesn't run high enough to tally up how many balls across the six yard box over the last few seasons have found nobody there on the end of them.
