Agree, they all want to come as it could be the last time we play them for a few years, hopefullyDesmond2-2 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:25 pmDon’t talk utter shite!behind the goals wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 12:04 pm Carlisle would easily sell 2,000 tickets and with many Barrow supporters unable to attend the game because of school night and work, that was the initial reaction from posts on social media when the time/date was changed, give Carlisle more tickets the segregation in the Holker Street end can be adjusted, it's over to the Barrow fans to see if we can sell out, plenty would attend a cup game at the same time versus top opposition.
Not so sure about the 'bigger clubs than Carlisle have struggled in non league' quip. Notts County could be argued for - they are averaging around 10k at home, but we'd not be far off that if we were up at the right end of the table this season. Our average even at rock bottom is well over 7k. Beyond that, County made the playoffs in each of their conference seasons. Wrexham? Recency bias might suggest so, but their early non-league days saw them attracting half the crowds we got in our one season in the conference (averaging well over 5k despite being forced to play home games at Morecambe due to the devastating floods, and setting what were non-league records at the time). Stockport - see Wrexham.32mile_cul-de-sac wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 4:09 pm When Carlisle got their new owners ( the messiahs) the fans couldn't wait for the Jan window of 2024 to keep them in Div1, well as we know that went well. Jan window of 2025 and they have thrown the dice one last time on signings and a new manager. Don't stay up and it could be years before they return, as bigger clubs than Carlisle have struggled in non league. Seems to me their yank owners are clueless about English football and how to run a club. Don't think I would swap our owners for any other.
Throw Stockport, York, Oldham, Rochdale, Tranmere, Southend, Aldershot, Scunthorpe, and Chesterfield in as well, all as equal with Carlisle imo.Moonie wrote: ↑Mon Feb 10, 2025 6:36 pmNot so sure about the 'bigger clubs than Carlisle have struggled in non league' quip. That said, I'm not at all confident in our ability to bounce straight back this time round. Relegation would be an absolute disaster.
Ticket purchased for the ridiculous Thursday kickoff. Not looking forward to it at all![]()

We've left it too late. There simply aren't enough goals (or clean sheets) in this squad. Should give you a good laugh in a few weeks!mall wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2025 7:03 am Bloody ell Moonie! I wouldn't get that downhearted.
The way you are talking is as if you only had about five games left to play. As one of your other crowd pointed out, Mark Hughes will just get them doing the simple basic stuff which will be enough to keep you up-and then tek it from there.
Wouldn't worry too much about that. A lot of the players won't want to play National League, and if they can get an EFL team that wants them, that's where they'll go.
2 home wins then the usual win over us and your out of the bottom 2 by the end of the month; been very lucky there is some equally bad sides this year, would usually be actually cut adrift and needing an actual great escape with that record this season
This all sniffs of our time with American owner.. overpaid for a bunch that clearly wasn't good enough. They know they have a few quid and the players know this along with agents..bluessupporter wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 12:37 pmWouldn't worry too much about that. Been interesting watching the progress of the owners and again, their journey looks similar to Paul Casson and his family.. money doesn't mean success and to be fair, some of us probably got into the illusion that we would all of a sudden have the best players, the best ground, best facilities etc etc reality is, they were naive and probably didn't do the homework despite claiming to be astute business owners. the piataks came in guns a blazing with the "own the North" claim and look like they and the fans have had their pants pulled down and slapped in the face with a reality check. I keep saying I want us to spank them when we play and to see them go down and part of me does! Only through the rivalry but who else would sell out like they do when they play at ours and who else would give the relative excitement of the "Cumbria" derby?? We Morecambe but they don't travel like Carlisle do and they also have a shorter journey.. if both slip down, we will have lost two good local rivalries.
The other thing too, apart from the cup game we have not taken all 3pts off Carlisle since our return to efl and I would love it if we absolutely thrashed you and gave you one on the chin for that awful drubbin you gave a us! If that puts a nail in your coffin then so be it but I am enjoying watching you struggle and suffer a bit.
If you do go down, I think again some will think you will bounce straight back but as we all know, it's not what you would call a semi pro league like it once was!
I am just looking forward to the game and hope it's a great atmosphere where we finally see us taking all the points .
Surely gotta be done this time! We now know we can score! Play with the same passion we did yesterday and we will be ok! The PW teams against Carlisle didn't look like they knew it was a derby and the intensity and fire was simply missing.mall wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 5:59 pm"finally see us taking all the points"olbarrafancumbak wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2025 2:09 pm

Experience has taught me not to say these things out loud!
Other than than that there’s nothing for them to worry about.
