Not sure wood is the problem . From what I hear he works his nuts off for the club.
He has been following the "nice guy first" model which is proving to be a failure. I believe this policy is the problem. Hopefully his brief will change now that AW is here and we will see a different side after the summer.

I also don't believe Wood is the issue. He eats drinks and sleeps Barrow AFC 24/7 from what ive heard and at many times to the detriment of his family.
The problem was evident when the accounts for 23/24 were published last week of which there has been very little comment. The owners pumped £400k of their own money in last season to keep us going. They are not billionaire owners like some are and that means when it comes to signing players we are fishing at the low end bargain basement of the market. Ive said it before and I will say it again without significant investment soon we wont progress and by that I mean into the top half of league 2. It will be a season on season struggle until the inevitable drop to National league occurs. We need massive investment and very soon IMO.

100% agree. I think the releasing of financial accounts was more about managing expectations ahead of the Q and A.
It's plain to see the board are keeping us afloat and deserve high praise for doing so.
I hope people realise that and show them the respect they deserve.

Well said just staying in league 2 is a remarkable achievement by the Owners, but for some that isn't enough.

Agree remarkable achievement just to stay in league 2, think the problem is progress on the pitch with wild was more than we expected and got used to it. Then this season we have gone backwards. Football is a results business we all know that, I think what we want to know is expectations on the pitch and how we become sustainable long term as dropping out of the league would be a disaster. I'm not naive we are not ready for league 1 but it would be a hell of a ride to get there one day.

Think we need huge investment but we are never going to get that let's be honest. We make the most out of the facilities we have but let's be honest it's a polished turd albeit ours.

Whatever happened to the new stand designs and the NHS having offices a while back.

Also we own the garage on the pop side now why cant that by converted into some kind of fan zone, pre match hospitality somehow

With regards the NHS development iirc those plans were incorporated into the NHS development at Alfred Barrow school
We don’t own the garage it was bought by the clubs owners. Probably to stop anyone else buying it and holding the club to ransoms should they ever require it for redevelopment plans

That’s correct, it’s not “ours”. The garage is also being rented out which brings in at least some income for the owners.

Good business investment buy the owners IMO Should current owners ever sell there shares in the club to someone who wants to take us up to the next level and invest millions into the club im sure they will get a nice price for the garage should the land be required for any developments.

The way I look at it is this - I am one of those who had just started my working life when we went out of the league in 1972 and was just retiring (a few years early) when we managed to get back in the league.
I honestly thought I would never see the football league again in my lifetime though always believed it would happen 'one' day. 'Since' we got back in the league there has been plenty of talk about promotion to league 1.
I believe 'that' promotion will come one day but, I hold with the same attitude I had during my working life-I hope I am around to see it. As you say, "we are not ready for league 1 yet" - in fact we are eons away because were still as yet in our fledgling years, consolidation hasn't even begun yet.
Time and patience is the key to growing our infrastructure and with that growing our support.

You dont build a house from the loft down, you need to make sure you have the foundations right. Unfortunately we are dealing with foundations that are very old, so will always be 2 steps forward one step back until things settle down, however long that may be.
