Can they please stop Darren Herbert from being the man on the mic at these things. Awful to listen to, first ten minutes it was embarrassing the shit he was coming out with.

I disagree very strongly. Darren was tannoy announcer for years and did a fantastic job and does an equally fantastic job when hosting events for the club like last Fridays in the Crossbar. We are lucky to have such a willing "volunteer" to step up and carry out the role.

3.6K views in 2 days is solid for a club of our size, Kinda shows we are going across Social Media platforms.

I do hope young Bailey was asked first seeing as he's the current stadium announcer.

And he is totally useless, talks too fast and often has the mike too far away from his mouth ( after being told about this numerous times)

Thatsa bit harsh. Darren Herbert was always going to be a tough act to follow he was superb. Bailey has done ok for his first season. It's not an easy gig but he has done well imo. Better than the idiot Callister who stepped in at times when Darren was off. Now he was and is useless. ;)

Fan banter group question doing the rounds on FB. …”worst away fan view of the pitch in the EFL” Before I even looked I knew the majority would say Holker Street. Theres no getting round it- It’s terrible. This view is mirrored from the stand on the Crossbar side of the main stand.

So a belated question for our Trust rep who was taking questions on the ground- I know we had a timeline and a budget to work with in order to meet compliant EFL seating requirements but does there have to be so many stanchions to hold up a fabric roof? and, in the meanwhile, is it acceptable to charge fans full price for these tickets- at least without a disclaimer on purchase that there is severely obstructed pitch views from most seats in these stands?
Looking at it, would it be possible in future to tie the roof line in with the main stand and just have one stanchion at the ends and at least make these views less obstructed. It doesn't help either that someone decided it was a good idea to put the floodlight pylons in line with the 6 yard line.

Replacing the newest stands will, rightly, be a long way down the list of priorities.

Had someone come up with millions of pounds, it might have been possible to replicate the line of the main stand with a cantilevered structure but then the main stand itself has line of sight limitations anyway. Using a pair of modular stands was a (relatively) economical way to put in the the seats which weren't necessarily desirable at that time to meet the League's imperatives in the limited time available.

All of your points were governed by costs,
Best part of a million for the stands, I'm sure removing supporting struts isnt the best idea tbh.

floodlight position dictated by the old terracing and the rotten old ones,, not ideal but who at the time predicted we'd be in the EFL within a few years.

As for reducing prices for restricted views; how would you determine that as pretty much every seat could claim some restrictions, and are seats allocated on a 1st come basis?

We all know it's not ideal, but it's what we have at the moment

Holker Street End isn't exactly the Royal Box either, stanchions every six foot, netting, urchins perched on the climbing bars etc. but l wouldn't want to be anywhere else! It is what it is, we are where we are, and until the New Jerusalem is built, we will endure.
We will follow the soccer, over land and sea...

I know it’s easier for segregating when there’s a lower away attendance (most weeks now everyone has been once) but view wise wouldn’t it be better to put away fans back in their bit of the HS End? There’s always police in the segregation bit anyway

I think there should be an acknowledgement when buying a ticket in these stands that it’s a very obstructed pitch view. The basis of a reduced cost would only come into it when that stand is likely to sell out and for the most severely obstructed view seats where you have a floodlight pylon right in the line of sight of the goalmouth.
If no price reduction is possible it should at least have it known at point of sale that the view is terrible. It’s a reasonable assumption that when you buy a ticket for a football match that you are going to be able to see what’s going on, or at least 90% of the pitch. Yes the ground is full of obstructed views but on the terrace you can at least position yourself in a better place.
