Morecambe FC

Regarding the sale of Morecambe FC I presume our friendly against them will not go ahead due to the fact their players have not been paid and they may not even have a team.Is it possible that anybody out there can clarify this?

Apparently they have no-one to sign off a safety certificate for the Mazuma so if it does go ahead it will be behind closed doors. However as the situation appears to be completelly stagnant who knows.Perhaps in the interest of good neighbours we could switch it to Holker Street and give all takings to their Trust.

Yes I agree,that,s a very good solution plus more people would probably go to the match and possibly give the money raised to the players who haven,t been paid.That would prevent the money going to the current owner of the club.

If I was one of their players, I would not want to play and chance an injury when they could soon be looking for another club

And as already has been said, assuming they have enough players, will they want to play if they're not going to get paid, and they would also have to pay for their own travel?

The reverse argument is they are putting themselves in the shop window. They are keeping fit by playing and there will probably be a few scouts and agents at the game.

But its a horrible situation for them.

They are playing tonight, and played a friendly last week. The issue will be playing at Morecambe

Probably started by the Ministry of Blunders.
I for one will not forget how Morecambe and Kettering stuck up for us while that reprobate Chairman at Workington said we should get relegated 2 leagues below during the Vaughan debacle.

Nor should we forget I kicked every ball in those games when players understably left think cookie was one
It was as though the referees were told to give Barriow no quarter in the games maybe my mind.

Against all odds we stayed up but we're relegated by the FA no one gave us a chance
I honestly think that was one of the major achievements.
I wish Morecambe the best of success be nice if we could help once things have settled down.
