Popular side was definitely quieter than Saturday; lot of empty seats again (albeit that’s hard to judge because a lot of hospitality don’t take their seats) What would Barrow gain by declaring a crowd that was a 1000 less? Do you think they were squirrelling cash payments away to buy a striker?

You may have hit the nail on the head with the gate being split with Preston, after deduction of expenses.
Here's hoping that number 9 shirt gets filled.

Far better tonight. Braver going forward. It’d be interesting to try Walker and Cameron together.

Can't see that happening with the way we set up ,the front 3 of Walker Mahoney and Earing showed how effective this system is if you have players who can hold the ball up ! , also the wingbacks pushed up to support them , whing now has a nice problem to solve!

Saturday was a shocker but last night was much more promising and we deserved penalties at least.

I get amused by the hysteria of football fans. Let's not forget that it quite often happens in a season that a team can be near the top at Christmas-time but finish near the bottom and, likewise, a team can be near the bottom at Christmas-time but end up chasing play-off places. We have done these things ourselves on several occasions. But that's Christmas-time, which is a lot further down the line than mid-August. So the doom-and-gloom of some is out of order. Very, very early days. Last night told me there's plenty of hope as long as the will is there to turn this early blip around . . . and I do not doubt that the will is there.

Agree and it also showed us we have strength in depth. All of those players that started last night looked as if they’d be comfortable starting against Notts County.

Agreed on the floodlights. Maybe the LEDs they are using cast a warmer light. First time use, so maybe just need a bit of tweaking

My camera settings will disagree on the floodlights, plus lux readings.

Twilight is always the worst time as the battle to overcome ambient lighting. Much better when it's properly dark. For all photo needs, I was shooting at 10000 iso last year min and having to clean up in editing, last night at 5000 with no real tweaks

Well watched the game ,probably one of the poorest teams we will play this season.
MKD were far better.
We had a couple of chances and yet still failed to score.
Let's not get too excited ,booty and goalkeeper looked good

I don’t think it’s hysteria, I think it’s reality. Most will agree that the quality of the squad isn’t as good as last year and we’re in for a hard year. Last night we worked really hard and had a go at them - as we should - it was a very different side that started their game on Saturday.

Are we going to get that work rate week in, week out? Where are the goals going to come from?

It’s a bit early to judge the squad yet compared to last years. We are light on numbers. Whing hopeful of one coming in before Saturday and hopefully another one before the window shuts
These lads will improve and get fitter as we play more games and understandings grow. The signs after last night tell me we will be fine

Plenty of opportunities to score last night. Countless chances missed. A poor strike force once again being our Achilles heel.
Shape, committment, organisation etc etc don't win football matches. Hitting the back of the net does!

Good workman-like high energy performance all round, with Booty the pick of the bunch for me. Could be THE man when he gets fitter.

Mahoney is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma. Like a skittish thoroughbread, if he could only keep his composure a little what a player we would have on our hands.

The conditions made good practice for when we play at the likes of Barcelona, Madrid etc.

Once more there were a lot of crosses skipping along the six-yard box with none of our forward pliers within yards. We have to get better at this, I don’t think Cameron Diness is a fox-in-the-box type but Tyler Smith is.

We must make him an offer he can’t refuse - without using a horse’s head of course.
