Greg Rogerson is in charge

Is he a policeman as stated in an earlier post, or does he work for the club?

I couldn’t understand why there was police in the empty part of the away end at the start of the game but by the time it kicked off they’d disappeared and then just strolled along rather than rushing to help; explains it now if they were filming home fans instead for some reason. As many have said if that was the other way round no chance they wouldn’t be at the away end for full game

Going off addresses, which is imperfect, looks like 4 Fleetwood fans and 3 Barrow charged by police.

So far. Enquiries said to be ongoing.

Was there a need for the Police to wade in to a fracas which appeared to be under the control of the stewards who evicted a possible miscreant? Collecting evidence and subsequent early-morning knocks at the door seems sensible unless there is a threat to safety.

Could BAFC consider a 'flare bucket' of sand, as used at some grounds when the big glove is used to avoid it being deposited on the artificial turf which is unlikely to react well to fire?

Hadrian at no stage could that incident have been deemed to be under control. Even after the stewards ejected the person responsible they were getting verbally, borderline physically abused. The Fleetwood fans were well out of order and the police present in that area of the ground should be held to account. They bottled it it's as simple as that. If it's happened once it'll no doubt happen again.

Remember that our ground is Private property. The Club can ask for Police presence inside the ground at a cost.
The Club and Police have to have a contracted “statement of intent” whilst in there. The match is monitored by a Match Day Commander.
Usually, the Match Day Stewards are responsible to deal with crowd disorder and can eject anyone who does not comply with the ticket (entrance) conditions. They can’t arrest or search, that’s the powers the Police have.
I don’t know what the “Statement of Intent “ is, but before you criticise the Police, you need the full facts. I would guess that the Police would not be able to enter the crowd, unless ordered to by the Match Commander.
I see that they must have obtained their evidence to arrest and charge the offenders which they did.
Maybe someone who knows the correct protocol can answer this.

There are two levels of Stewards/Security. There are SIA/Door Supervisors who can both search persons and bags as agreed in the pre match briefing. They are also able to reject anybody misbehaving or under the influence of drink/drugs. These individuals have undergone training and must display their licence at all times.
The others are Stewards who's main job is Customer service this can include ticket checks, car parking, directing customers to their seats and monitoring the crowd calling in the SIA at any sign of trouble. It is not the job of Stewards to get involved in any crowd trouble

Looks like you’ve contradicted yourself there. You say, “They are able to eject anybody misbehaving or under the influence of drink/drugs. “ which is what I think happened. The SIA appeared to have been called in to the Fleetwood crowd to deal with the trouble, which appears would be the correct protocol.
Whenever do you now see Police enter the crowd at football matches in recent times. It’s always done by Stewards first.
You may say, “Well, why are the Police inside the ground then?” I would suspect, primarily that it is to obtain evidence of any criminality, to later arrest, charge and take the offender to Court. Remember, they are on Private property, but they could still become involved if there is a threat of serious harm to anyone and/or to prevent serious damage. It appears that those overseeing the incident felt the SIA’s were capable of dealing with it.
Interesting, and thanks for putting your views forward and clearing up the position of the Stewards.

So WHY haven't our club and the Police released a joint statement?, it's not an exaggeration to say one of those stewards could have been seriously hurt !

I agree with you. They should, now that charges have been done.

Nobody has been found guilty yet. Let due process take place in the courts and then make a statement when all the facts have ben aired in a court of law and sentences handed out if those currently charged are guilty is probably the way it will go. Once charges are made the case is live so speaking about the incident via a statement wouldn't be advisable IMO. It could potentially harm a case. Defence lawyers jump on any little thing that could potentially put their client at a disadvantage.

Absolute Rubbish the Club and Police could still make a statement concerning the facts without any names they could easily do this ,why do you constantly take your evasive narratives!?

The facts will be aired in court and hopefully that will lead to a guilty verdict. Even making a statement and not naming names risks the case being thrown out as a defence lawyer could use that to claim an unfair trial. As we have a Ex Police Officer as the clubs General Manager he will know more than most how important it is not to publish anything that can jeopardise a conviction.
