Looking for positives here. Maybe the deafening silence could be to do with an imminent big announcement that will give us all renewed hope for 2026!

I was at Accrington and going to Tranmere its more of a day out than watching the football now and it should not be like that.

Normally we get a statement in what the owners plans are to address situations.

The Board. have done alot for the club.

I wonder if the lack of information about a Managerial change is due to the fact that the club is being sold?

This is really out of order.
Very easy to spend other people's money.
The people who have backed Barrow have done it out of love of the club not for profit.
You also have to think the likes of Mr Hornby are from more of a gentle background.
Personally I think they have been hoodwinked.
There are alot of Charlatans in football.
Phil Brown had the gift of the gab.
A former Manager of ours went to a non league club and in less than half a season used 40 players turned out he was. a agent as well.
The naivety was shown by the appointment of Dunn and Jolly!!!
I think the money seen spent has wasted which comes from people.talking a good job but not actually doing one.

We have to let the board get on and the silence is indicative of us being in trouble.
Whatever happens one should not doubt there sincerity so let's get off there back.
We all know Mcdonald is not the answer ,even if Cook comes without some guidance off the field he could fail.
Not often I agree with you Pedro but agree with every word of your post.
Some idiots on here just like to say something controversial to stir things up.

I don't know if this is true, but on X a group called football league world has stated Barrow pay £4.2 million per annum in wages. The 8th highest in EFL2.
Difficult to criticise any BOD when players/agents are demanding these amounts.

Last season Paul Hornby was on record in stating the wage bill was around £2.5 million and at the start of this season he said there was no increase from the owners on that saying we are in the lower reaches of the wages paid table this season

Hearing the playing budget is around the 2.2m figure, we are around 14th on spending. Are we and the board getting value for that I would say not. I think this is what the board referenced when they say they have the players to get us out of this. Carlisle spent a lot more and it didn’t work for them. Still big decisions to be made and still time for them to be made.
But let’s not be fiddling whilst Rome is burning.

If we imagined for one minute £4.2 million is true-it would make the case for bringing in someone such as Jon Brady even more compelling to reap the value of that outlay.

Lets use John Brady as an example.

Given inflation, 120k a year easily
Assistant: 90k
Various staff x 2 100k

Then there's 'tried and trusted players I need' so ler's say 3 at 100k a year each

Add any pay offs.

Then there's folk we'd have to get out to the National League. Let's say Marcus Cooperio and Mika Jollie are on 2k per week. Gateshead copper up 1k a week and we still pay the rest.

Crowds are down and they are worried about long term sustainability

And theyve done this on several occasions over the last five years.

We've a home support, some of whom only know the league we are in and rightly expect a reasonsble standard of competitiveness at Holker Street.

Another section are firmly glass half empty, utterly love the club and utterly expect disaster and struggle...will embrace that narrative at every turn (see also town improvements)

All are demanding 'action' (including me)which likely means putting hands in pockets, notwithstanding the result of is going through the trapdoor.

Youve an 'old head' scenario that worked with Rob Kelly post Jolley...they must have been praying McDonald would improve matters. But it seems the opposite.

What would you do?

It's a blooming difficult question to answer!!

Unfortunately players wages have ballooned miles more than is sustainable for many clubs.
But when it's your own money being spunked week in week out and you feel like your getting nowhere, what do you do?
No matter how much anyone loves the club, it's not worth loosing absolutely everything you have surely!

Steve however hard the truth is the board need to let us know what the situation is !, we then have to accept our fate and back them but there's one thing WE CANNOT GO ON LIKE THIS SEASON AFTER SEASON it's insanity and unstastainable!

I can’t disagree with any of that. Not many clubs are run as a sustainable business at our level but the difference we have is our owners don’t have as deep a pockets as most others at our level and hence no spare cash to through at the club willy nilly.
