Ultimately though, they are football fans just like the rest of us. They have no insight into football, tactics or players and managers that the rest of don't also have. That's why they appoint a DoF from a position of footballing knowledge...and they appointed a football agent instead. Not an ex-player, or an ex-manager, but somebody whose business it was to dupe/strongarm boards of football teams into getting the best deals for his clients.
Is any of that not true??
Do football agents not count as football people with their knowledge of players, contracts and, especially, other clubs? Ex-players can bring lots of experience but it doesn't necessarily make them a good coach or a good manager. Use of 'dupe' simply suggests cynicism; don't forget it's a buyers' market.
And they can also bring in players who are injury prone or not suited to the EFL2. Probably due to their knowledge of football players being out of date as they have been involved with other tasks at a club.

As has been pointed out, many of these have been fantastically good for the club and put them in a good place.

Others haven't.

If they were ex-footballers or coaches then I would agree that they have a reason to be regarded as such, but agents in general? No. They leverage position well. It's a talent, but it's not a footballing talent.

What a disgusting comment by Sonofsam you should be ashamed of yourself. Hornby has invested so much money and effort into the club and idiots like you make idiotic comments from behind a keyboard where you know you can get away with it. If you had any sort of decency you would write a full apology on this page, but hang on you need guts to stand up for your arguments but you are completely gutless. .
