Re: Barrow v Oldham
I don’t know what the weathers like up in Barrow but it’s really calmed down on the Fylde coast now. Wind and rain this morning. Just a light breeze now. I don’t think it would have been too bad tonight.

Re: Barrow v Oldham
It’s no more than a good kite flying day over Walney.
Re: Barrow v Oldham
Right decision my backside! 15mph winds by kick off. Pathetic. I went out walking with my dog this morning when it was wet windy and dark ooohhh spookyFanzoneFan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 12:04 pm Without doubt the right decision. Well done for making an early call, the Shrewsbury game was bad, if tonight’s had gone ahead it would have taken it to a whole new level. Serious question has the reduction of the slag banks over the years made the ground more exposed I can’t remember watching the soccer as a kid and seeing so many matches ruined by the wind.
Easterly wind and the slag banks west if the ground
Just say no to VAR
Re: Barrow v Oldham
What an absolute farcical decision.
55 mph gusts in the early hrs today, dropping to about 34 mph by kick off. Just a breeze in this part of the world.
Far to quick to call it off imo, do they not look at forecasts ??
Gonna be a Summer sport in the future the way its going.

Just come back down the A590 is a high sided van, no problem with wind.
Re: Barrow v Oldham
Tactical decision?
Means we can see other results tonight plus gives any more new players we sign ( hopefully) a chance to stake a claim .

Re: Barrow v Oldham
The UK is currently being impacted by Storm Chandra, and local forecast wind speeds and gusts are at a level that present a risk to supporter safety. These conditions affect not only the stadium footprint itself, but also local travel routes and the ability for emergency services to operate effectively if required.
Supporters safety - what a joke.
Windier in my back garden in the Summer.

Re: Barrow v Oldham
Called off far too early IMO forecast improving all day from lunchtime. It wouldn’t be so bad but Oldham is only a couple of hours away. SAG must be a bunch of snowflakes, I wonder if they’ve contacted BAE so they can send everyone home.
Re: Barrow v Oldham
Would rather have played tonight. Games in hand not great in our position. If a few around us pick up points this evening we are even deeper in the poo and that ramps up the pressure.
Might not have got anything tonight but more likely to get points if you play!

So you like watching games that are garbage wake up ,we struggle in these winds ! Plus what do you think the attendance would have been look at the bigger picture instead of yours !Paul wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 1:12 pm What an absolute farcical decision.

Re: Barrow v Oldham
It’s not that windy and frankly we struggle in any weather and pitch conditions. The other games in the league that have been called off are waterlogged pitches and we are not in the eye of any storm. People are entitled to see this as a soft postponement.blue nige wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 1:35 pmSo you like watching games that are garbage wake up ,we struggle in these winds ! Give over.
What do you expect in the winter - we live in the North by the coast. The majority of our home games are played in worse conditions than what's forecast.
We've struggled this season whatever the weather, most games have been garbage anyway.

Re: Barrow v Oldham
What a pathetic statement dont you want the club to succeed or just make throw away comments?, the club would have lost even more money due to the weather today?Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 1:56 pm What happened to Iron Ore and Shipbuilders Tea?

Re: Barrow v Oldham
That’s probably got more to do with the decision to call it off as they would have been expecting a very low crowd and perhaps the lowest since we’ve been back in the league as attendances have been falling dramatically without the excuse of poor weather.blue nige wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 1:59 pmWhat a pathetic statement dont you want the club to succeed or just make throw away comments?, the club would have lost even more money due to the weather today?Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 27, 2026 1:56 pm What happened to Iron Ore and Shipbuilders Tea?
