Next 5 games

Post by LCBAFC40 » Tue Jan 27, 2026 8:40 pm

Every game until we are mathematically safe is a cup final but next 5 games -
Swindon away - can't see anything here

Notts away - again can't see anything but we have beaten them away before when no one expected it.

Then 3 massive matches -

Shrewsbury away - must win
Colchester home - again 3 points !
Harrogate home - must win

Get a few more players in, get the system right and pray we get a minimum 9 points in next 5 games.

So far the football gods are helping us with tonights scores 🙌

No one could see us getting anything at Walsall either!

Another utterly amazing set of results this evening. 5 teams below us. 4 losses and one draw. Also three of the loses turned late in the game. Two games in hand on two of them (both of who we have play at home). A game in hand on the other three.

There was a time when it looked like the points required to beat the drop might be closer to 50 points than usual. At the moment getting to 46 points is looking a pretty tough task for all of the bottom six. At the moment I'm getting more pleasure from tracking our fellow strugglers than I am following our own performances. We seem to fair much better when we don't actually play.

Nice to have you back.

It's a very negative outlook to rely on others losing. I'd like to see a win or two for us 😀
Just say no to VAR :sentoff:

Lets not get ahead of ourselves. Just take one game at a time.

Big games this Saturday -

Bristol vs Newport
Crawley vs Harrogate
Shrewsbury vs Barnet

Obviously Barrow at Swindon (both lost last 3 matches)

Shouldn't be relying on other teams but it helps esp if the bottom 2 lose !

Worrying thing is over last 6 matches we are 2nd bottom in the league for form (3rd from bottom over last 10 games) so we need to start getting points on board and fast before we really get sucked into the scrap.

I'll let you into a secret. We're already sucked into the scrap. Only 4 points above the two relegation places and Bristol Rovers or Newport and Crawley or Harrogate guaranteed to get points on Saturday!

Three away games on the bounce - how did we manage that? A baptism of fire then for the new recruits and any points will be hard come by l think. We won't be at home til halfway through next month when Colchester are at the SO Legal for the Valentine's Day massacre!
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

So, up to Friday, 13th February it'll be almost 5 months since a home win but the Valentine's Day massacre for unfortunate Colchester will bring that to a crashing end.
Don't let the old man in.
