Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
“1st goal is so important in league 2” there goes that quote in the bin. Feels like, with these new players and manager we’ve ripped up the book and started again, yet we went 8 games unbeaten when an influential RK when he came in, just doesn’t add up.

And we are the dreamers of dreams

Same as McDonald did on a couple of occasions (Accrington away most memorably).Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 31, 2026 4:54 pm No doubt but today Gally cost us points, very very poor substitutions.

Struggling to pass the ball to feet from 5 yards. Second half as bad as I’ve seen all season

Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
I’m starting to not care if we get relegated as long as 90% of this lot get shown the front door!

With Bristol and Crawley both winning and Shrewsbury drawing, we're no longer in 'Squeaky-Bum time', we've moved lower to 'Shxtting-our-pants time'....Us, Newport and Harrogate to fight it out for 3rd bottom.

No. 1 contributing factor for the loss is today’s substitutions … timing, numbers, positions. We were our most effective and fluid before the first subs with good positioning, attacking and pressing. Powell taken off too early on his debut. Jackson was a poor substitution today, as was Jovan but we lost our way quickly and didn’t recover. For being ahead then losing by 2 goals after subs is not a good strategy.
Looks like the new additions to the team will contribute to our campaign but we need to have better team management.

Noticed the players training in hats and scarfs this week obviously working very hard on the training pitch
6 years in the football league but the attitude / structure of the club and mentality is small - we don’t deserve to be in the football league

Relegation confirmed for me there..... ontop and concede such pathetic goals.
Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
The only way we will stay up is if Harrogate and Newport are worse than us.
Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
We have a very bad team and a inexperienced Manager which shows.
Very like our fall out of the league last time.
Talks a good job.

Re: Swindon Town v Barrow, match thread
We've got a young inexperienced manager, saying all the quips and quotes, and we are throwing new players straight into the starting 11 hoping something is going to click, it is not going to work that way. We needed experience at the helm and we needed seasoned no nonsense players, not a young coach and young players cutting their teeth with a struggling side. I am not sure if these players are up for the fight ahead. If we fall into that bottom three (and i am absolutely gobsmacked we are not already in it) i don't think we will have the fight to get out if it.
"To achieve anything and to get to the Football League, we have to expect to win every game. I've got to get everyone believing that we can, and I will work hard to embed that mentality into the players, the town, the board and whoever else” Ian Evatt.

We should have signed someone with leadership quality , someone to push us over the line and that includes the manager!

We have some nice players but lack leaders that are willing to die for the cause. Tickle our bellies sadly we crumble
