Felt at the time that MacDonald would’ve been a safer bet ‘til the end of the season. Instead we plumped for inexperience. We’re properly in ‘as long as there’s two teams more rubbish than we are’ territory now.

I know he was unpopular and the team had been on a poor run but I didn't think Barrow were in any danger when Whing was fired.

Well, Hornby is always saying that they aren’t scared to make tough decisions, so even if Wood was appointed by those funding the club and he is the reason behind the last 2 or 3 managerial appointments then they owe it as much to themselves to get rid and if that is the only stumbling block to approaching Wild then it needs to be done in the morning at the latest! This is going to get very toxic on Saturday and next Tuesday if either that doesn’t happen or we don’t win both those games!

I’m usually optimistic and used to think we’d comfortably avoid the drop but sadly not anymore. 24 points from 29 games is atrocious. How we’re not in the bottom two with that points return is a mystery. If we do go down we can’t say we didn’t deserve too. I genuinely feel for the board. God knows what they must be thinking after all of their investment, especially during January.

If you listened to PH interview he said that feedback from the training ground said it wasn't working with Whing. Sounded like to me that other staff members be it players or whoever got rid of him.
