Re: Dino
I don't know if any of you were at the game last night but I was. In fact I'd been invited there by a Shrewsbury mate so I wasn't sitting with the Barrow group. In fact I was just behind the dugout area & I've got to say I watched Gallagher a lot throughout the game. The impression I got was he was hardly demonstrative at all during the first half. In the second half after the two early goals he did make some brave substitutions but he looked to me a broken man which I found very odd (or was he just totally frustrated?). The no 2 frequently got involved and try to direct the players but the damage had been done. I was a bit sad but I was not surprised with tonight's news but it reflects so badly on our club. It also does not help with his career development and in the future suitable or able candidates might be put off applying for manager/head coach jobs at Barrow whether we are in the EFL or the National League. Quite frankly I find the turnover of managers embarrassing since getting back into the EFL.
On a final note I saw the events at the end of the game with the players and supporters from the side. I've seen Barrow fans like that before (I remember at Crewe in Wilds first season where we lost 3-0 and a "supporter" having a heated go/argument with the manager - it reflects badly on the fanbase). It felt a bit the same way last night to me (I actually saw the reaction of Stanway when he walked away from the confrontation and he was visibly upset along with the other player who'd been right up to the fans - such things do not help. In fact I decided to clap the two lads and shouted something stupid like "beat Colchester on Saturday" - I think they might have heard - they probably thought I was mad!). Don't get me wrong I was truly gutted about the performance and very annoyed with our lack of bravery in going for the equaliser in the last 15 mins. But I've never felt it helps the team when the fans get over aggressive and angry towards the players and I mean over aggressive. It makes the next game that much more difficult for us. We are all hurting but need to somehow stick together. Let the recriminations start at the end of the season. Survival is still in our hands.

Agree, specifically and generally.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 7:58 pm Can’t even be arsed listening to his interview. Just win
The interviews (which are mandatory) are largely repetitive drivel.
I’d much rather we don’t have them, but prior to matches, after matches same old same old.
Adam tries hard and usually does well.
I’d also prefer it if we don’t have that ultra loud music and asinine song at the start of games as well.
I confess that to some I’m an old fogey, but just would prefer to get on with the games, and forget all the noise around them.
Re: Dino
This old fogey would much rather have the interviews-no ones forced to listen to them-its nice to have the option.Hitthebar22 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 11:35 pmAgree, specifically and generally.Big_Bluebird wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 7:58 pm Can’t even be arsed listening to his interview. Just win

Agree about the music at the start of games though.

Re: Dino
We can't keep doing what we have been doing. This supposedly front front football has got to change. We need to be hard to beat. Two banks of four and try and nick a goal. Draws and the odd win are better than loosing every game. Paul Gallaghers appointment was crazy. Bringing a manager in who had never managed before was just plain madness. Let's hope this guy can do it because it's the last roll of the dice. Let's get behind them on Saturday
Re: Dino
So as supporters we continue to accept the lack of effort, application and commitment do we. Sometimes venting your frustration/ire in a semi controlled manner works. There wouldn’t be one player out there that didn’t take notice of what was said, Yes it probably hurt and one or two would of took umbrage especially when it comes to family loyalties but if it hits home to a couple and that then starts debate at training and beyond then we get a positive response it was worthwhile. Because what the coaching staff have been saying clearly isn’t hitting home.
These are supporters that continue to follow our club up and down the country many in our darker days of non league too spending vast sums doing so. The players get the praise from the same supporters more often than not and get off pretty lightly compared to many clubs.

Re: Dino
It’s fair point; if another club down the bottom had acted as badly as we have this season we’d think the owners have lost the plot and the club is heading down

People do not want to come to Barrow at the best of times hence we train in Manchester.
We are at the cross roads.
Maamaria is a unknown quantity, if he went to the likes of Harrogate or Newport i would be worried.
It's a last ditch gamble but one we have to take.
Don't know if people remember him playing when we were non.league but what he lacked in ability he more than made up with effort / aggression and that's what's missing on the pitch.
If we cannot win the ball take the player out preferably well away from goal.
The game Harper let a player run right through and scored epitomised it.
My granny would have took him out .
People need to remember back to the bad old days .
If the Board walked away from Barrow no one could blame them.
Let's remember these are supporters as well ,why else would you spaff money away .
Some on here like me will moan about things like Wood but others go on FB and here and are abusive, there is a line that should not be crossed and alot do.
Let's remember where we were after Vaughan.
If we go down we will deserve it unlike the last time.
So let's hope the rot stops Saturday.
We have a good record against the Cowley's .
Re: Dino
Couldn't agree more with this, sums my thoughts up perfectly. A change was needed, but the need shouldn't have ever come to pass if we'd recruited properly in the first place. This decision is one for the short term, but in addition to your point about future hires, another one is we are not a stable environment and this will make higher division clubs think twice about loaning players to. We are now reliant on a number of Gallagher's loan signings keeping us up.andyg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 10:53 pm I was a bit sad but I was not surprised with tonight's news but it reflects so badly on our club. Look after number one and all that, but it is a circus and can't continue. I'm pretty embarrassed as to how this all looks from an outside perspective.

Re: Dino
Everyone to their own but I don’t think I’ve ever booed or shouted at players as they leave the pitch…and I’ve seen some utterly sh1te performances over the years. I’ve either left early or just walked out at the final whistle - but I don’t, or can’t believe angrily shouting or booing them….and in some cases being throughly abusive helps anyone.McMark wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 12:34 amSo as supporters we continue to accept the lack of effort, application and commitment do we. So yes, in my opinion a good post by andyg
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Dino
This circus is down to one man. Ian Wood. He got lucky with the Pete Wild appointment. Since then it's been a joke. Surely he needs to go. What is he actually bringing to the table for us and a past football agent I would not trust a word he says.

Re: Dino
Nobody was calling for his head when Wild was here or when we were at Chelsea and top of league 2 under Clemence and that was over two years into his tenure. It all went Wrong when he took on extra responsibilities IMO due to Alisha Henry leaving suddenly. Last summers transfer window was a shocker. PH has acknowledged what he took on was too much for one person to do in his interview last week. The board should have recruited a new CEO IMO and left Wood as DOF.only.
