Re: Dino
What credentials does he have for the DOF role? You have championed him constantly and I am happy to acknowledge that his influence on the infrastructure has probably been beneficial, but his influence/interference in the appointments and recruitment side of things does look to have been an unmitigated disaster, one after another. So I ask again, what are his credentials for being involved with the players and the management? He's not a scout, not a coach, not a manager....he's someone who can obviously argue a case very well, or he wouldn't have been an agent and he wouldn't have been gifted a place on the board.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 8:28 amNobody was calling for his head when Wild was here or when we were at Chelsea and top of league 2 under Clemence and that was over two years into his tenure. PH has acknowledged what he took on was too much for one person to do in his interview last week. The board should have recruited a new CEO IMO and left Wood as DOF.only.

Re: Dino
agree with a lot of what you say, but that reaction Tuesday had to happen. They were cowards. I counted 3 times 2 players going to head the same ball, I saw players backing off letting them get shots off, I saw canavan standing still letting his man walk past. There were times barrow players were stood on the ball for 10 seconds plus with no one showing for it, it was a disgrace, it was basic Sunday league stuff a lot of it. I’m glad they got a bollocking by people that travel up and down the country spending good money and hours watching that, it clearly shows exposed the wronguns in the squad by them walking off and gesturing to the barrow fans. It also shows who cares too, only newbs and Stanway come and actually spoke out. I think that may have been the kick up the arse they neededandyg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 10:53 pm I don't know if any of you were at the game last night but I was. In fact I'd been invited there by a Shrewsbury mate so I wasn't sitting with the Barrow group. In fact I was just behind the dugout area & I've got to say I watched Gallagher a lot throughout the game. The impression I got was he was hardly demonstrative at all during the first half. In the second half after the two early goals he did make some brave substitutions but he looked to me a broken man which I found very odd (or was he just totally frustrated?). The no 2 frequently got involved and try to direct the players but the damage had been done. I was a bit sad but I was not surprised with tonight's news but it reflects so badly on our club. It also does not help with his career development and in the future suitable or able candidates might be put off applying for manager/head coach jobs at Barrow whether we are in the EFL or the National League. Quite frankly I find the turnover of managers embarrassing since getting back into the EFL.
On a final note I saw the events at the end of the game with the players and supporters from the side. I've seen Barrow fans like that before (I remember at Crewe in Wilds first season where we lost 3-0 and a "supporter" having a heated go/argument with the manager - it reflects badly on the fanbase). It felt a bit the same way last night to me (I actually saw the reaction of Stanway when he walked away from the confrontation and he was visibly upset along with the other player who'd been right up to the fans - such things do not help. In fact I decided to clap the two lads and shouted something stupid like "beat Colchester on Saturday" - I think they might have heard - they probably thought I was mad!). Don't get me wrong I was truly gutted about the performance and very annoyed with our lack of bravery in going for the equaliser in the last 15 mins. But I've never felt it helps the team when the fans get over aggressive and angry towards the players and I mean over aggressive. It makes the next game that much more difficult for us. We are all hurting but need to somehow stick together. Let the recriminations start at the end of the season. Survival is still in our hands.

Those who walk off gesturing to the fans should be fined and got rid of asap.

Re: Dino
The image of the football club will be a lot worse than it is now if we are back in non league with crowds of 1500. Managers couldn’t care less about if clubs hire and fire the money does the talking , or else ourselves and Watford wouldn’t have any new managers… Do you want Gallagher to have another 5 games and confirm relegation or go again and fight???andyg wrote: ↑Wed Feb 11, 2026 10:53 pm I don't know if any of you were at the game last night but I was. As for the fans Tuesday , it may have looked bad from a far but the point a lot of the people were making was look at your captain and your ‘ leaders ‘ in the squad walking off heads down they weren’t interested. It wasn’t all out abuse a lot of people were shouting their valid points. If the captain came and had a calm conversation at the front nobody would’ve had to shout that was the ask… Them young lads came over and fronted a rubbish performance, they’ve not had that kind of reception all season a few times they could’ve done. Tuesday was the final straw for a lot of people.
If you were really that arsed you’d have sat in the Barrow end

He admitted mistakes have been made and also Barrow more often than not don’t get their intended targets.
As others have said he wears too many hats and looks burnt out trying to cover his responsibilities also recognised by PH.
He largely operates in the background much to the detriment of us fans, hence I would like to hear more from him in order we can all understand the reasoning behind what goes on.
Considering he doesn’t come from the area I’d say he’s more Barrow than some who do.

Wild left probably because of Wood. We've had poor recruitment for summer and January in my opinion. Losing 3 of our star midfield has absolutely killed us this season. Woods in charge of this circus on and off the field. Get rid.Main Stand SeasonTct wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 8:28 amNobody was calling for his head when Wild was here or when we were at Chelsea and top of league 2 under Clemence and that was over two years into his tenure. No need to give anyone’s head a wobble I’m just expressing my opinion as I see it having spoken to him. I also respect your view even though it’s different to mine. Our owner’s obviously think very highly of him and that will do for me.Rtw6095 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 10:35 amWild left probably because of Wood. Re: Dino
So, this raises a couple of questions in my mind. You 'know for a fact' and you got it from the Q&A? Would that mean that someone told you that and you took it as gospel? Secondly, given the absolute shit show we have experienced since Pete Wild left the club, would you say that it is with Wood doing his absolute best? I'll also repeat what I have said previously and elsewhere in that I think it is a terrible idea to have Meet the Manager at the same time as questions are needed to be asked of the board. I think it's disrespectful to the new manager and to the fans.Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 10:32 amI know for a fact Wood absolutely sleeps eats and breaths Barrow AFC, I know this from the Q and A.

2) Can’t argue with the S Show but I’m not aware of the circumstances and I don’t think anyone else apart from BOD do.
3) Totally agree regarding meet the Manager with the BOD present, not good.

I respect your opinion. I don't agree with it. Ian Wood does not live and breathe Barrow. Us fans who have been there season after season, not taking a penny from the club (quiet the opposite) in the rain, snow and sunshine live a breathe Barrow.Barrow afc 2018 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 10:42 amNo need to give anyone’s head a wobble I’m just expressing my opinion as I see it having spoken to him. Saying a football agent that takes probably a very healthy salary out of a club that he would leave at the drop of a hat for another club willing to pay him more money is a joke. Not an opinion.

Take your point RTW and yes we all live eat and sleep Barrow hence the passion on this Forum. I can only take it from the owners perspective these are seasoned businessmen and don’t suffer fools gladly as we’ve seen from the revolving management door.Rtw6095 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 12, 2026 11:15 amI respect your opinion. They obviously see things from Wood that none of us see and more so be satisfied with the way things are being run even if on the surface we aren’t.
I’m as frustrated as the next fan with the way things have gone let’s just hope we can get through this and have a root and branch review end of season. Been good to share our views enjoyed the craic.
