Very good opening 15 mins then both sides cancelled each other out until halftime. Game tooed and throwed Sampson missed a sitter. The supporters gathered momentum and got right behind the team loud and proud the players seemed to respond and we got a deserved winner. Wyll Stanway was resolute when called upon.
Need to back that up with a result against Harrogate and the table should be looking a little better

Sampson was flagged offside Mark but yes it was a sitter!

I think the liner was signalling for a goal kick! Think it was a sitter that was missed. Deserved it after all his moaning.

Agree Danny rose was every where, Harrogate now have to win on Tuesday.

He would’ve been my MOTM, but when we win, it doesn’t matter. Wyll was excellent when called upon and deserved his clean sheet. Loved his reaction at the end. That’s how much it matters! Let’s take this into Tuesday now and put Harrogate to the sword.

Rose was MoM by a country mile imo. Apart from the one save Wyll didn’t have a great deal to do mainly due to the Colchester radar being woefully off target when they had chances of which they had a few in second half.
If the effort Rose put in is reciprocated by the rest of the squad for the rest of the season we will be just fine

Didn’t get chance to watch this one but sounds positive. We needed someone to come in and set standards and make people accountable get another win Tuesday and it will massively dent harrogates confidence and put a decent gap between us

Exactly what someone coming into our situation should be doing; first things first making us harder to beat and worry about the defending side, worry about playing football later. In a way Tuesday where it really should be us showing the initiative and taking the game to Harrogate might not now actually suit us but we will see what Dino has up his sleeve
Superb win; it was how Barrow should be, hard working and the last 20 minutes or so the support really got behind them, felt together on and off the field for the first time this season really

Just watched Dinos interview he's so switched on and he's obviously no mug ,his positivity is refreshing and million miles from Whings garbled whitterings, and Gallagher for obvious reasons looked like a rabbit in the headlights, after listening to him and watching today I feel a lot better than Tuesday night when I felt despondent!

Adam has just said that he lost it when we scored - I actually played it back for my other half to listen to at the time. Brilliant, passionate commentary as usual. Massive win. I was at Shrewsbury on Tuesday and I really feared for our future (I am normally an optimist), so the swift appointment of Dino and the immediate improvement has really made my weekend. We must avoid our usual disappointment against Harrogate. We will do L2 a favour if we beat them.

That was the most relieved I have ever been to win a game for ages. To be honest, I don't think we played any better than during the losing run, but the big difference was that this time we got the luck for a change.The disallowed goal against Crawley, and the 'over the line?' incident at Notts could potentially have given us 4 extra points - I wonder if Gallagher would have been sent packing if those decisions had been different. Fine margins.

Anyway, credit to the effort the team put in, especially Danny Rose who won countless headers and ran himself into the ground - definitely my MoM.

Colchester are a decent side and must be gutted to not even get a point from the game - you could tell by the way several of them slumped to the ground at the final whistle.

Incidentally, I haven't seen us play Colchester since we beat them 3-0 in 1965, which was only the second game I had ever seen.

I usually listen to the matches I can’t get to and then watch the full match replay on the club website (you need to sign in for this), but I haven’t been able to face watching the Shrewsbury match again …

Well, glad I made it up the m6 for that one. Not seen us for a bit but the intensity was great today. Didn’t necessarily expect a win, but wanted to see some passion and positivity…and got both. Dino never sat down - unlike some - and you could hear him shouting from the Pop. Side. all the way through. Lots of nice touches from him, which I reckon won a lot of us over straight away. As others have said, one swallow does not a summer make but that’s a cracking start! In Dino we trust - roll on Tuesday! COYB.
