Do high fives really make a difference

Having read blue blue boys belief that our team didn't celebrate goals, I wonder does it really make a difference.
When you see a very average save from the keeper pushing the ball for a corner or a defensive tackle producing the same and the defenders high giving each other for basically doing their job I find it a bit embarrassing to watch. Should players react this way and does it really build teamwork and momentum.
Imagine walking round the supermarket and witnessing staff high fives as one of them manages to stack the beans facing the same way. Really just doing their job!
Back in the day goals were celebrated with an arm in the air and get on with it. Think Denis Law or Roger Hunt in 1966.
It would seem to me that just doing these ridiculous hugs and gestures because they are expected becomes routine and banal
And don't start me off on players surrounding refs when they don't like a decision, absolutely pointless when did you ever see a ref change his mind.

Never had alcohol on the day of a game but knew a few that did and it enhanced their performance in some cases definitely not in others mine being one that it didn’t.
But yes of course positivity and encouragement certainly helped along the way. Definitely celebrate the good things as there’s a shit show round the corner for sure.
Post match mingle with a few beverages of choice whenever the opportunity arises always helps with team bonding.
