It feels like whoever is injured would be the answer because we're clutching at straws. Smith has been inconsistent. Ben Whitfield has been a great servant but is back because he's not the player he was. Williams maybe is a differential but when will he be back, might be too late.

Smith almost certainly, but definitely MJ and Whitfield would be starting for us currently if everyone in the squad was fit; it’s not just a case of us pining for injured players they are key players we are missing who are a) better than those starting and b) would then have the knock on effect of creating squad depth which especially in certain positions we really don’t have

Disappointed with the draw after the lead, but happy with the point to give us a lift. Thought we played well - apart from the first 20 minutes where we didn’t establish ourselves.
Look at the 3-4 times Anderson, Barky, and Newby ran and dribbled at the defense - we were a real threat. Amazes me why we don’t try this more.

As already been said numerous times,the weakness is our defence.Sort that out and we may survive.We showed a bit of a fightback last night,hopefully the green shoots of recovery.They need now to learn not to panic when when they come under attack in the last ten minutes.If they can do that we might survive.Let,s see what happens Tuesday night in front of a home crowd.That match will determine in which direction we are headed.

Smith was starting to show a bit of form after a terrible first few months before he got injured, and Whitfield with his running at defenders can be a real threat as was Barkhuizen tonight. Foley coming back is a big boost and Williams will be too but maybe too late as you say. H Anderson coming back is big he was very impressive tonight and carried the ball well.
Raglan and J Anderson sorry to say are no loss for me neither are good enough same for Hemmings and Walker as well. No Mahoney involved tonight was he another injury? or just finally been dropped for being totally ineffective and a waste of a shirt?

Agree with that smith was a decent guard in front of the defence. Absolute travesty how deep we’ve deployed barkhuizen this season he’s such a threat when he’s running at people

Agree re Barky, Newby also a major threat if played as a forward that said I think Newbs is best utilised as an impact player rather than a starter.

Yeah Newby and tom off a forward as a front 3 would be class but for some reason we’ve just persisted with a system that suits no one

Goals have come straight from all that space thats freely available when you play 3 at the back.

3 at the back clearly isn’t getting the most out of these players.

Its the wingers I feel for, having to play out of position with increased defensive responsibilities.

Barkhuizen should be further up causing problems for the other teams defence, not running backwards to goal after each long ball

I only saw the highlights but Cheltenham seemed to target our right hand side from the off. And boy was there a lot of space there to exploit, and when defenders eventually appeared in the frame they looked unsure of what to do and where they should be.

Maybe Dino will have this problem ironed out by the time we play Newport?
