It’s All We’ve Got.

Post by spirit of 1990 » Wed Mar 11, 2026 3:54 pm

As bad as this season has been & then having it topped off with that display last night doesn’t change the fact these players are all we’ve got to keep us up. No new players incoming, no transfer window, no new managers….nothing but what’s in the squad now.

That’s it.

So as bad as it is we as supporters simply cannot give up. Slating players during the game (as happened last night) isn’t going to help, they might’ve deserved it (actually, of course they deserved it) but it still doesn’t help during the game.

I hope we can turn up on Saturday and cheer them on as though it were the first game of the season, forget last night, forget the previous games. If we can do that….who knows? It might not change a thing but it certainly can’t make things any worse.

If the atmosphere is toxic from the KO, if people don’t turn up, if we slate and boo players then it definitely won’t help, we have nothing to lose. Added to that I was told MJW & Smith are close to returning, if we can get Ben back as well that gives us a fighting chance surely.

Just under a quarter of the season left, it’s not impossible, it’s improbable but definitely not impossible.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

You hear of a manager 'losing the dressing room' but this group of players (and coach) now find themselves in a position where they have 'lost the crowd'. However the answer to this situation rests entirely in their own hands. When you have a problem, all you can do is set about solving it no matter what.
We will foller the soccer, over land and sea...

Sadly, that's true but, even more sadly, they aren't good enough to do it!

Completely understand where you are coming from but sorry, this team has been backed time and time again by the fans that pay their hard earn money to be served a total lack of effort or fight. Most of these players wouldn’t warrant a start for Holker Old Boys at the minute. For the way he laughed last night, Rekeem Harper deserves to be dropped to the deck, not the team.

Normally I'd agree with this sentiment. But i'm sorry these lot need to earn that backing if they want it.
We've backed them. We've turned up and paid to back them time and time again and they reward that with a complete lack of effort, a complete lack of respect for the fans and an attitude that says they're coasting for a pay cheque and don't care.
Holker Street backs a team that shows fight and heart, even if they're poor. These scam artists aren't interested in a fight
We hate Carlisle United, we hate Workington too (and Morecambe), we hate Accrington Stanley but Barrow we love you :scarf:

I guess it's over to Sam Foley to try to get a tune out of these lot and keep us in the football league - one thing which won't help Sam is a crowd full of whining [SwearFilter] from the off. Yes, we're all aware that the team is shit but it's time to back Sam now and try to collectively, somehow get us over the line.

Exactly my point, we know how bad we have been but let’s try and give Sam the backing he will need. Let’s hope the players see it the same way, personally I think they’ll want to do well for him.

Your right Ian,The first thing Sam needs to do is tell Raheem, sorry your dropped and I’m taking your place in midfield!

I agree that we need to get behind them - it is indeed all we've got, and the only way we can help to get the outcome we want.

Anyway, I'm not convinced by the narrative that the players don't care and are not trying. I think they are putting in a lot of effort. It certainly can't do any good for the players to read that kind of criticism.

So is the problem that they just aren't good enough? It can't do much good for them to read that either.

But one thing that is for sure is that they aren't good enough for all this playing out from the back nonsense. It seems to be just a recipe for giving the ball away, and isn't resulting in many goal scoring opportunities. Very frustrating for spectators. I would like to see us be more direct. Just get the ball up the park. It may still result in giving the ball away, but at least it's in the opposition half, and it randomizes the situation, which can't be any worse than what we have at the moment.

As the man in the Pop side says - "Get it forward Barrer !".

I'm not shocked as the games vs Gillingham and Bristol were just awful to watch, absolutely no passion, no effort and I still can't weigh up the formation with who was playing.
I'll back anyone and I am very cautious that this team aren't good enough to stay up but we have 33 points left to play for starting Saturday. I'm just intrigued as to how they'll set up and whos in starting 11 because even if he gets the players on board we were really bad on Tuesday so I think changes are definitely needed.

Do I have to be positive towards Rekeem Harper who laughed at fans voicing their opinion on Tuesday?

Not at all, Harper along with most of this shower will most likely be gone at the end of the season but as supporters we play our part to get The CLUB over the line.

Sam Foley hasn’t let anyone down, I don’t see any reason why supporters shouldn’t be behind him.

Sam Foley is literally the best of them.

If they won’t play for him. They won’t play for anyone.

All we can do is turn up and support.

The rest is down to the players. Come on Barrow! :scarf:
