Dino
Re: Dino
Everybody on this blogg seems to blame Woods for this fiasco but surely a whole board of directors must share the responsibility, an interview panel must choose the manager it's not down to one individual. What experience do any of them have the have in the game, the answer is none, what do you you expect to happen, it's purely guess work and they are making an absolute 'balls up' of the whole club. Having money to put into a football club does not make up an expert, just a rich supporter.
Re: Dino
Agree - All the experience in the world counts for nothing in this game if the team are not prepared to play for you.standishbluebird wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:18 amAbsolutely correct of course - Foley has zero experience in the dug out - but it’s a straw we must clutch nonetheless!
Camaraderie can translate into a powerful force among the players which can constantly push each one of them, each other to be better.

Re: Dino
It's also interesting to see that Simon Ireland, who was brought in end of February as Dino's new Assistant Head Coach, has remained as part of the triumvirate. He does appear to have a good few years in coaching at various clubs.

Re: Dino
The players seem to determine the manager so we probably have time for two more before the end of the season.

Do you know if goalkeeper coach Ali Uzunhasanoglu has stayed too, or did he leave with Dino?theotherbarrow wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:51 am It's also interesting to see that Simon Ireland, who was brought in end of February as Dino's new Assistant Head Coach, has remained as part of the triumvirate. I bet Ali never got a lot of bookings as a player.Cokey wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:56 amDo you know if goalkeeper coach Ali Uzunhasanoglu has stayed too, or did he leave with Dino?theotherbarrow wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:51 am It's also interesting to see that Simon Ireland, who was brought in end of February as Dino's new Assistant Head Coach, has remained as part of the triumvirate. No mention of whether Ali has left with Dino or has stayed on.Cokey wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:56 amDo you know if goalkeeper coach Ali Uzunhasanoglu has stayed too, or did he leave with Dino?theotherbarrow wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:51 am It's also interesting to see that Simon Ireland, who was brought in end of February as Dino's new Assistant Head Coach, has remained as part of the triumvirate. Gallagher was a camaraderie appointment. We've been sold all season that the 'lads' are a great bunch with camaraderie. It's not a powerful force when it's effectively men against boys.mall wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 8:48 amAgree - All the experience in the world counts for nothing in this game if the team are not prepared to play for you.standishbluebird wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:18 am

If I may, I would like to sum up the situation in song...
Dino! Dino! Dino! Dino! Dino!
2026 at a dysfunctional club
Oh, Dino!
Before Foley’s Machine and the unbeaten run
Oh Dino!
You pulled out your hair when the Pirates plundered for fun
Oh, Oh Oh Dino! (Cont Pg.94)

Really not sure what your point is here, other than rubbishing the board, Excellent timing.45YEARS+ wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2026 7:52 am Everybody on this blogg seems to blame Woods for this fiasco but surely a whole board of directors must share the responsibility, an interview panel must choose the manager it's not down to one individual. Also Wood is called Wood, not Woods.
Why don't you start a "board out" theme.
And then see what happens to the club.
Owners aren't often former players. E.g Wrexham, Manchester City, Arsenal, Macclesfield, Stockport etc etc etc. It's a fairly endless list.
Is your point if someone with billions bought Barrow, but had never had kicked a football, then you would want them? Maybe you are just anti rich people.

Re: Dino
And what is the alternative to the current board - we don’t have any Hollywood stars lined up to buy us as far as I am aware (and we had our fingers burned with crooks and frauds 20 odd years ago)? We have a good Board, but mistakes have been made this season. If this lot won’t play for Sam Foley, we are doomed … I hope he is able to play himself, at least for parts of matches.

If the Keens,Pappa Casson and now this board had not stepped up we would have folded.
We cannot say they are not to blame but it's none intentional and done with a good heart.
I questioned if we had insider betting because I don't believe we could have such a poor run without a few results.
We need the spirit that we had when Vaughan pulled the plug .
The FA would not relegate us as we had no players and they assumed we would go down
We brought John Beck and Shane Westley and they put a team together as most of our players left .
It was misfits but Beck and Westley against all odds kept us up.
We need that fighting spirit and Sam Foley needs to inspire the players
For me Harper should be no where near this team.
Elliott Newby needs to be on the wing because he upsets defences when he runs at them.
Not sure if I would play Gordon and Rose but would tell them to keep up front.
Let's remember don't bite the hands that feed you at QA these people are putting there money where there mouth is.
Ask questions but be respectful.
Foley can do it but he needs to kick arse.
Remember this Board are supporters to.

Gets alot of stick because he is local and he does not get stuck in.
Far better than Harper .
