Seriously how do we stay up ?

I'd say, the reason Bromley and similar clubs like Barnet are more successful than a club like Barrow is purely down to the fact that the pool of talent in the wider London area is huge whereas the pool of talent available to Barrow is very small. London and other large cities have a huge advantage over clubs in small provincial towns because there are so many players who play at lower EFL level who can join a club without moving home.

Fair comment, Bromley also have significant investment behind them at the moment, something we have been seeking for some time to no avail. Also our 'hybrid' set-up is not really conducive to reserve or youth teams. It is what it is and probably all down to money.

Considering the title of this post its certainly gone off on a tangent. Cross that bridge at end of season. Despite them being top it wouldn’t be that mad to turn Bromley over. Beat Walsall and Oldham at home, also not massively beyond the realms. MK and Cambridge we can write off, anything’s a bonus. The others Barnet and Grimsby away and chesterfield at home wouldn’t also be a major shock to pick up points. The leagues poor and we don’t need reminding we are the poorest but it’s far from over, least wait till Bromley put 4 into us next Saturday for that

You're quite correct Jeff. In my defence I was though only picking up on a point previously made.
We will get an unexpected result somewhere along the line so why not tomorrow.

You are so right - the club still thinks, I reckon, like a non league club. Tranmere Carlisle and others do not think like that whether we like it or not. Sure Carlisle are in non league but they still think like a league outfit. We must change our mindset. If we go down (I still have some hope - don't ask me why) we must go into the non league with a big club mentality not that pathetic "little Barrow" attitude. We must keep players we think will help us at National League level. Get some Rooney & Quigley type players into the squad. Believe me it is awful football in the National League. We have got to think like Evatt did and ask ourselves can we best the best we can possibly be and think big. A couple of years back Grimsby proved it can be done. Getting relegated with an awful team (although they did the double over us surprise surprise), had a poor start adjusting to non league got their act together went on a great run and were promoted via the play offs. They had the right attitude - we are a league club in the wrong place. Shrewsbury also did it as well a number of years ago.

Sick of hearing about this so-called 'little Barrow' mentality. It's all just opinion, and what one person sees as a 'little Barrow' mindset, another sees as simply a realistic acknowledgement of what we are. You might as well call the opposite view 'delusions of grandeur'! A club in our situation with the level of funding and the crowds we get can hardly claim to be a giant of the league. In any case, I doubt very much if the mindset of fans either way is much of a factor in the situation in which the club finds itself. At the moment, whether we are a sleeping giant or a minnow, we can only hope that by some miracle the present bunch can scrape together enough points to keep us at this level.
