The biggest mistake was believing in January that the side was good enough on the back of a couple of results when Kelly was here. We brought in the wrong players in January because we had a bit of a points cushion “You don't need to do much”. Early warning button was then pressed, Whing gone, Gallagher gone, Maamria gone, then panic button and Foley thrust into it. Credentials- “he knows the lads” Sorry, he was given an impossible task. Don’t let “National League is probably our level” be a soft landing for what has been a terrible season. We recruited poorly in two windows, Needs a footballing equivalent of a Houdini escape to avoid the drop now.

Exactly this. Kelly papered over the cracks temporarily with Whing and his recruitment. Whing btw was relegated today with brackley hasn’t won a game thwre yet. Gallagher was a bizarre appointment at best given Wood and Hornby said that Whing had lacked experience…and Gallaghers signings bar Rose have made no impact at all and aren’t even playing, we all knew they weren’t the type of player needed for our position. Maamria was a tough talker but seemed to lose some of the players and it was always going to be mission impossible for Foley but we’ve lurched from one bad decision to the next without any plan, or vision. Steve evans apparently was targeted but was out of our range and Brady too, but too many poor decisions have been made even as far back
As Stephen Clemence, managers and players and finally it seems it’s come back to bite us.

We need to win the next two to have a chance at home and that’s not happening is it realistically…

So I was at the game. What an odd stadium by the way, like playing at an academy.
Anyway, for me the best two Barrow players on the park who put in a shift were Gordon and Harper closley followed by Malcom when he came on, the rest looked clueless.
I dont get to see the side live very often but my main thought was how rudderless we looked. There seemed to be no structure to the team, this is clearly not a team who are all together and fighting for their mates that much is clear!
Josh Gordon must wonder what the point is, regardless of quality which is a seperate discussion he works his absolute socks off and frankly shows the rest if them up. Rakeem Harper for all his criticism really deserved his goal today, I though he played well and was willing to get stuck in, I couldn't for the life of me pin down what position he was supposed to be playing but he dis well. Big Jovan Malcom seemed up for it when he came on too and put himself about which was good to see.
The problem is that the team looked as if they had met for the first time on the bus, no cohesion and panicked every time the ball came near.
At 2-2 we briefly had them rattled and I think as other have said the introduction of whits at that point could have seen us go on to win, instead Stanway chucked another one in his own net (yes he made a couple of really good saves beforehand).
Danny Rose is bloody lazy, Connor Mahoney didnt want to break into a sprint or even a sweat half the time. Barky seems to have lost all confidence and MJ needs to be back in midfield.
Really good bluebird following considering the distance and the circumstance but the fat lady has hold of the mic and is ready to give us a serenade

We mainly beat Bromley at home coz of the windy conditions the southerners weren’t used to, and the lottery of the ball drop, no chance now unfortunately of staying up. For me, Mahoney has had one decent game all season. Unfortunately we’ll never have a team anywhere near the Barrowcelona team of the perfect storm season.

That is the end of our football league journey. I've already used to the idea of non league football back at Holker St. In honest reflection it's been nothing but a struggle up at this level. We have just bounced around the relegation zone since being promoted (thanks to Covid) and we've had probably one decent season since been back and even that ended in absolute let down for not making the playoffs.

The club now need to start preparing for next season and try and keep some of these new fans we have. Because the days of 700 on a Saturday won't be as enjoyable as the last few seasons.

If ever there was a game for a Sam Foleyish type player to come on, calm things down and orchestra a draw, or even snatch a win, today was that day.
Now, I may have missed something in the goings on at the club regarding availability but, (and could Adam please ask the question), is the actual Sam Foley available for selection?
He's employed to PLAY for the club not watch disaster after disaster unfold from the sidelines. We couldn't even see the first half out with the ball down their end with barely 30 seconds left on the clock ffs.
Where are our 'leaders' on the pitch? Why aren't our substitutions positive ones? Why do we not put attack minded players on with enough time left for them to have some affect?
But above all, is Foley, fit to play? No opt out in his contract is there?

I think Foleys concentrating just on coaching but I agree why hasn't he been at least on the bench. MJ not in the middle, Smith not even in the squad and McLean injured so we are lacking in midfield. Going to miss Canavan and Reglan if they don't return soon. Really need to be up for a fight Tuesday because Oldham are a decent side and have a couple of string lads up front.

I guess having barely played all season and being nearer to 40, Foley has probably just conceded that his time is up playing. He’d still be more effective than some out there though even for a short time but I always said if we’re relying on him coming back we’re in trouble. I assume smith was injured today and Canavan went off last week so he could be done too for the season. Shadow of the player he was age has finally caught up and injuries but you’d still have him as we’ve got precious little else. Raglan by the sounds of the pre match interview from foley is done for the season and for me has been no loss. Maybe national league will suit him but he made far too many mistakes this season and is one of many who simply aren’t good enough for league 2.

Put Coughlin in charge and get Foley back focusing on the playng side for now.

It's done though we haven't got 1 win in us let alone 2/3 we might need.

A truly shocking season and the board have to be blamed for it.
